Did I Cheat? Would you Have? Did I Cheat? Would you Have?

Today, I was at the casino. I was playing blackjack and hit a blackjack for 25 dollars. The dealer paid me 37.50. I took the green chip and added my 12.50 to my next bet. My cards were collected and then, as play continued around the table, the dealer busted. He went from his right to left as per usual and paid everyone who had money out including me.

I was caught a little off guard, the play was fast, the deal went fast, I kept the money and played on.

Now, I feel bad. I am not a regular at BJ and maybe I saw it wrong. Dealers don't seem to not know the game so maybe I mis-read the situation. Home now, money in the pocket but I am wondering what you all think. Should I have said something? Would you have?

There is a chance you saw it wrong or, got a weak dealer that simply made a mistake. Even very good poker and blackjack dealers will make tons of mistakes each year. You probably didn’t get paid a few times when you won and the dealer saw it as a push. Don’t sweat it ❄️. Many AP players put their next bet up immediately after they bust in hopes of getting paid as the dealer goes around the table paying players after they bust.

It's not that big of a deal. It's the casino's job to protect their own assets.

What it boils down to is your own conscience. You won't get reprimanded in any way for failing to point out dealer errors. The absolute worst thing that may happen is for the casino to ask for the money back once/if they discover the mistake later.

I personally don't say anything about dealer errors in another player's favor, always say somethin about dealer errors in the house's favor, and sometimes say something about errors in my own favor. Some players purposefully try to increase the rate of dealer errors by distracting them, angle shooting, etc. I don't think this is ethical so I don't do it. I wouldn't call someone else out for it, though.

This is also exactly where I draw my line. I usually won't correct a dealer for an error in my favor, but I won't go out of my way to force a dealer into an error, or do something to increase the chances of a dealer error.

*I admit that sometimes in a situation where I push and I'm celebrating like it's a win because I got lucky to have pushed due to the circumstances, a small part of me is secretly hoping that just maybe the dealer will interpret from my reaction that I must have won, and he'll absent mindedly pay me out.

Well, now I feel better. Thanks for the responses, though there are fewer than I was hoping for. I have found myself playing more and more blackjack and, as my sample space has increased, I have seen more and more - actually a surprisingly high number of - dealer errors in my favor.
I'm not good enough to angle shoot at all and I don't play high enough to really hurt the casino but I wonder about how much dealer error costs the casinos.
