I have no idea if there is money in these (actually I'm sure there is in Backgammon), but one reason to learn them is that they are challenging games that are fun to play.

universally there's no money in any of those, (well maybe some money if you're top 10 in the world in backgammon) it's what you make of them

all you have to do is to find someone who's willing to lose a non-trivial amount of money to you playing a game and then just be better than this person at whatever game it is

if you're looking for backgammon etc equivalent of pokerstars it doesn't exist

Again, do not know if there is any money in any of these but you can find them all on www.playok.com. The cribbage is very streaky at this site because the game's initial dealer has a huge edge and he is randomly chosen by the computer so you could play ten games in a row as the game's initial dealer rather than five if you were taking it in turns. Gin rummy is a hugely skilful game and if you could find a mark....

BTW, dominoes are the equivalent of playing cards. There are whole families of domino games some more skilful than others.

Best reason to play these games are that they are wonderful games.

I'm an expert Spades player. I've determined that it helps me tremendously when playing other games that require memory, especially stud poker.

There was a real money Spades site called Spadester but it was full of cheats and went bust. Worldwinner has (had?) a duplicate Spades games for real money. The juice was like 30% and you were matched on skill level so it was impossible to win long term. I got to the point where it would tell me that there were no matches available for me, essentially backing me off.

You don't want to play any of these games online for money. You never know if your opponent is using software to guide his/her play. Even poker can be a problem. As for live play, there may be some clubs for bridge, backgammon and the such if you live in a large city. But many of these died off when poker became big because you can make more money at poker (more bad players).
