The easy question first.. Yes I am in New Zealand.

Tougher question...

So. Advantage players are a rare thing now. All blackjack tables on the main gaming floor (which anyone is allowed to play) now have continuous shufflers. So advantage players simply don't exist. At least if they do, they do a bad job. I'm not convinced that you can actually count with a shuffler. But when we did have a shoe on the main floor. There were a few things we could do.

The first one is making sure dealers are aware of what counters do. Generally counters will bet the minimum until the count was good and then they would just max the box. So fairly easy to spot. Information is key in the casino. So once we have that. Surveillance are notified (if they haven't already noticed) as is the pit boss and shift managers.

Then once determined they are in fact a counter. We could basically do a few things that would really hurt them. The first is we cut the shoe basically in half. Thats as much as New Zealand law allows. So instead of having 6-7 decks to count from. We'd only give them 4 effectively. (We used to be 8 deck shoes). While this was happening, generally we would send over dealers that had the best customer service. So always talking, and basically a cheap way to distract the patron. If this fails and we still think they are a threat. We can restrict there bet size. So whatever bet they make as there first bet for a new shoe. They have to bet that every single hand. We can also not allow them to play a hand mid shoe. That is pretty much all they would do. But the final thing that I've never actually seen done is we can reshuffle at anytime we want.

VIP is still a manual shoe. But obviously it's invite only. So if they are a known counter they will never be invited. So pretty much, the shuffling machine has eliminated all the threats of serious counting and at the same time increased turnover.

I've never actually heard the term holecarder before, so a quick search and I found out why. We deal slightly different in NZ. In blackjack here. When we deal, the dealer only has 1 hole card. We don't do it the Vegas way and have 2 cards during the game. So it's not like when we have an ten or an ace we can check for a blackjack. We just let the punters take there cards. And then when they are finished, the dealer will pull his/her 2nd card assuming all players haven't busted. Seems like a really easy fix for casino's in Vegas.

And the surveillance stuff is way beyond me. Gaming staff never ever get to see the surveillance room let alone talk about what they do. I know a few of the guys there and I've probed but they won't give any details away. Only the gaming shift manager is ever actually allowed to go into surveillance to view footage for disputes or whatever.

For the biometrica do you mean like facial recognition software? Because yes we do have that. At the main entrance we have face recognition camera's. Anyone trespassed gets flagged pretty quickly and security are notified and then patron is taken to the office and is basically given a tresspass notice for two more years on top of there original tresspass. But if thats not what you meant I have no idea lol.

The way casino's deal with card counters is pretty similar as far as I'm aware. We all use the same techniques. I personally think if you can count then props to you. But part of my job is to protect the casino's assets.

I'd never really thought holecarding would be a thing. But I find it amazing now that casino's haven't just changed there procedures and just do it how we do it. It just eliminates the entire threat and adds to game security.

I guess you feel stupid for wasting your time waiting 5 months for someone to spoon-feed you the answer instead of actually thinking for yourself, right? Oh well. Keep waiting, I'm sure someone will give a **** any time now.

There is a way to beat the newer devices, aside from external methods and ST, but I've not decided when or if to release the information.
i've been windowed counting one2six for 8months now with good rules. im ahead by a little so far and they offer great rebate on loss so that is a plus. i was searching to see if there is any other way to gain my edge and saw your post. i was wondering if you plan to release the information you talked about. that would be greatly appreciated.
