Hi,

Does losing a blackjack hand generally makes it more likely the next one is a winning ? i guess you would need to know which cards.

I understand the martingale is not good system no need to talk about it. What I am thinking is more like, if the distribution of cards should give winning and losing hands, does a losing hand that just passed make a winning coming more likely ? Because I guess certain cards in the deck are more likely to give a win.

A losing hand doesn't make it more likely that the next hand will win. There are different kinds of losing hands. You could lose with TT against blackjack - and this makes it worse for you on the next hand (removing 3 tens and 1 ace); or you could lose with 4556 (20) against 44355 (21) which removes a bunch of low cards and makes the next hand more favorable. On the flip side, you could have won each of those hands by being on the opposite side - and the impact on the next hand would be the same.

So blackjack is a game where the past events can change the probabilities - but only if you consider the playing of specific cards to be events. Whether a player won or lost, however, is not an event that impacts the probabilities.

With no other information, your EV after losing a hand will be slightly higher on average, but it's an insignificant effect and doesn't open up any way for the player to get an edge. It is because over all the possible combinations player losses have slightly better card removal effects than player wins.

From a strict W/L point of view and with no card informations, at bj you'll get more losing hands than winning hands, that is more losing clusters than single losing situations (LW).
Thus it's generally more likely that a single losing hand will be followed by another loss than a win.

This is correct.

Best wishes,
