you just have to be good at it lol. games end all the time because the host is a degenerate gambler, or ******* when drunk, or extends too much credit, or can't manage personalities, or lets the games get too big for the player pool, or is lazy as ****, or gets pinched, etc. be around to pick up the pieces and do things better.

What about Fisherman Greg stories? Or stories of any great grinder from the past you played with in LA who disappeared over time and is now ungoogleable.

its always better to be the house, when you look at the "famous" poker players who've "made it". look how many run/own online or bm card rooms/sites or run games legally or illegally. everyone figures it out sooner or later.

if youre not on the spectrum you realize what PRO poker is real quick, its a vehicle to relieve the weak from their money (gambling addicts, drunks, idiots, etc). thinking a bit bigger you realize there are faster more efficient ways to get the money.

amateur poker is a different thing, it can still be a social endeavor, brain teaser, etc but even then there are many many brain teasing social games other than poker.

of course, poker isn't a thing, its a vehicle to separate suckers and their money and that why it gets reinvented and changed constantly to do the job. one day PLO is getting nitty, you come in the next morning and its PLO5. no one gave a **** about PLO, poker isn't a thing.

ya, she was a nice person, fun to be around, good at poker but spazzy, a very sad story and about as horrific as it gets in the gambling world but truth be known many/most pro poker stories end badly in some way.

it was really quite different from a typical well found in these parts and here again we lead in with "i'm a literal legend"

while it seems like most people have their cliques and crews - very close relationships with people they studied and swapped action with - you appear to be more of someone going on a solo journey. Is that an accurate assessment? If not then which players do you work/coordinate/socialize with the most?

Can you dive deeper into what you talked about via getting paid to be on stream or running the game?

3.)

By game runner, are you talking about private games in the physical world, on the apps, or both?

4.)

Do you do AP play & bonus whoring?

5.)

If you were one of the most winning online players then why not continue? That doesn't make much sense to me.

6.)

How do you stay so humble?

7.)

Will you ever settle down and raise kids to run games for you?
1) ive never worked with anyone, ive never taken a stake a swap or a loan in my life (POKER ISNT A TEAM SPORT), ive never gone broke and ive never run with a crew. that said, other players who've basically done it like me will contact me from time to time and i will contact them.

2) if you are a draw, make them pay you. I used to partially own LATB thats why i would play on it sporadically even though i hated it. i felt playing on your own stream was unethical so i always made sure it was a tiny game with other casino employees/stream members.

3) run a game somewhere somehow if youre the type of guy who takes phone numbers, organizes things, hangs out with gamblers away from the table, know your value. (at least get your rake back!)

4) Im not involved in any online sports betting at this time.

5) there was a huge difference between Party and what came after party, night and day, to make the same you had to either double your tables played or double your stakes. i wouldn't do either playing 8+ tables seemed like a finance desk job and higher stakes required keeping more money online and i didn't trust any of the sites or the big games, guaranteed cheating.

6) oh lord its hard to be humble when youre perfect in every way.

7) no. D.I.N.K for life. i like being rich and free.

far more from poker, its hard to make big golf bets with a big edge over and over, people wise up too quick. golf betting has gotten much smaller (all gambling has) over the years.

nichoel went completely off the grid during covid. no one has heard from her

this is as close as well get to pokersesh for now!

old man coffee was rumnchess. ive used combo bet forever but maybe bart said it first ive never researched it. i coined the term "winners tilt" for sure.

i did coaching for a very short time 15+ years ago. found it to be profitable but lame and unfulfilling, if i played televised tournaments i would open a coaching site though so i could instantly monetize the tiny window of fame you get from final tables and wins.

thanks for another great thread.
i am always massively overrolled so never really stressed although i did drop down in stakes after a break even year in 2008. i wasn't stressed though i just made the right play, i dint want to sell stocks and take tax hit. i have no attachment to playing any particular stakes or particular game. i see no value in "moving up" in the poker world, id rather move up in the separating people from thier money world but only up to the point where i have enough to be happy, i dont really go for more than that the juice isn't worth the squeeze for me, i really enjoy being lazy.

i would add one thing, if a losing player who is very good for the game is flashing ill tell them,ONCE. if a jerk or nit or whatever is i never will. telling people **** theyre doing wrong aint my job.

fisherman greg invented the "to go" betting format. ie the blinds are 5-5 but you have to limp for $10. he also sold gold coins at the table and did really well with it. if you have a gold coin at a mid/hi poker table someone always wants to buy it.

thanks for taking the time to respond to so many questions

agree 100% on your take regarding the online scene - it very quickly went a casual way to basically earn good passive income to something you'd have optimized at every level with 100% dedication to the grind and constantly improving along the way
