prob 36k and 19k respectively. I never buy in super deep and i never play long sessions.

massive winner on party 2003-2008. the cfo of party, vikrant bhargava, even flew to america to meet some of us to see how we were playing so many hands, make it easier to multi table without opening multiple accounts and to give us bank cards to withdraw. i also played on a 100% rake back "prop" account at absolute and killed it for a while. by 2009 i was nearly 100% live poker. what you needed to online to win wasn't fun or interesting to me.

What's the best way to make money advantage gambling right now? PLO5? Trying to hustle into private games? Anything non-poker?

this is tough. there were guys that won fortunes like wan lee but made sets all ****ing day against fish, legends like bobby hoff and quieter really tough grinders. truthfully the dude who i saw make the most mind boggling calls/folds/value bets even though he didn't play every day was phil laak.

the sad part of this is i can't mention a modern player because there isn't even ONE (1) everyday 10-20 nl game at commerce anymore or ANYWHERE in los angeles public poker. its over kids.

run a game, run a book, quickest way to a million if you dont own anything, are smart hard working, great gambler and play well with others (and can handle getting pinched).

the day it happened i posted 85% no cheating. I stand by that. no cheating team would go to the trouble of setting all that **** up for a run it twice coin flip then give the money back! hahahahaha. ive dealt with a lot of gambling criminals in my life that situation is basically impossible. ive also seen 100s of amateurs out of their depth make stupid plays and give stupid explanations because the are embarrassed. so why even 15%? because some criminals are just stupid. not in this instance IMO but in at least 15% of instances.

ive largely stand out of the line of fire, things happen around you. but to make money real fast you have to get really close to the edge, work with too many people, too many loose ends, too much stress. making the money you actually need at the pace you need it is nearly risk free.

I have a deal with a casino to run a game. i play about 15 hours a week. 10-20-straddle PLO and $30 ante double board bomb pots. When a big casino has a grand opening soon I will be steering their new dealers in the pits and counting cards on opening week!!!

I would do it all again but i would change one thing, i would have played televised tournaments at the start of the boom and developed a persona cutting bananas in half with playing cards or berating dealers or something lol. It was worth 8 figures in sponsorships and running games online if you just ran a little hot. i was too "purist" knew tournaments were a waste of time and wanted to grind big cash games like a "real pro". that said, it all worked out pretty ****ing great and still is.

I made more money this year playing live poker than my day job paid me. I quit my day job and have been playing full time since August. I play in Texas, 5/5, 5/10, deep straddled games buying in for $2k. 99% NLHE. I have my toes barely in the door with the local high stakes / private game crowd, but hopefully that is my path to growth.

Any advice?

wake up whenever, make coffee (PHiltered soul pour over), check stocks maybe make a trade (mostly bonds now), go to golf course, gamble, go to casino, gamble, come home and PROPERLY cook dry brined prim aged NY strip over oak coals near black and blue with asparagus side and stags leap cab. this happens nearly every day (menu may vary, hand made pesto from basil grown in my garden tonight, hand torn pasta and tartine grilled garlic bread, terry hoage grenache)

i wont play on a stream unless im getting paid/own the stream.
scumbags make the poker world go around, the are the lifeblood of our "careers". DONT FORGET IT!!

learn every game that is spread around you at decent stakes, pay very close attention to the rake in private games, if you make the game better know your value and never pay rake. always be looking for ways to take the bets and not make the bets. poker is active income and wont always be that fun (if youre not aspergers). looking at red and black rectangles is a pointless waste of time, its just a vehicle to get money. make the money having other people look at the rectangles while you do something else.
