best software to log short deck hands?

I was thinking of grinding on pokerstars from micro short deck all the way to high stakes! Is pokertracker or holdem manager still the king to keeping all the hand histories? Or is there a free alternative these days? Thanks! Is the rake beatable in short deck or is it worse than holdem?
