Hi, guys! 6+ is very wild game and i am not sure how many BuyIns i should have to feel comfortable and not busting. For now i gave it a shot with almost 100BI but i am wondering if it is a good idea to move down one level. What do you think?

The variance is high, so 100 BI looks okay. If you feel uncomfortable, then I see no problem in going down a limit lower.

Or, if he loses half his BIs then he can move down to half the stakes and have 100 BIs again.

depends on the stakes you play and how experienced you are. would say 100BI should be fine if you keep an eye out for your bankroll and are willing to move back down
