A few bugs to report from the macOs version of H2N4 A few bugs to report from the macOs version of H2N4

Hi friends...

Here are a few bugs I've observed so far in my as yet fairly limited use of H2N4:

1. The HUD Editor's Preview launches two windows stacked on top of one another - the bottom window shows the hand without the HUD and the top window includes the HUD. If I try to close out of the Preview replayer by "x'ing" out the top window, H2N completely freezes and I have to force quit it and restart it. But I just today discovered that if I instead "x out of" the bottom window, both windows will close and the app doesn't freeze. I can only assume this weirdness is an unintended bug given how completely unintuitive it is.

2. I was running my iMac connected to two external 4K displays and when I first installed H2N, I couldn't get it to launch for the life of me - it would just fire up, flash a couple windows for less than a second and then immediately crash. I finally got it to launch once, was even able to get it running but then the next day I couldn't get it running again. Then it finally occurred to me that when I got it to run, I didn't have my external displays connected. So I tried to launch the app with no external displays, and sure enough, it worked. I've done a few tests and have concluded that it can handle ONE of my 4k displays being connected but will fail to launch with a second 4k display connected or if it's already running when I connect a second external display, it will crash immediately or soon after. Admittedly, my sample size is small and this may very well just be a ram or graphics card issue on my end but I figured I'd report it anyway in case any other folks encounter the same issue. You can see the specs of my system in my first post

3. When multitabling, sometimes there's one table's HUD that doesn't have the same alignment as the other table(s) - everything is skewed just a touch lower which is annoying since I get it lined up perfectly on one table but it's frustratingly off on the other one.

4. Moving HUD elements on tables is VERY hit or miss and extremely frustrating at times. They seem to have a mind of their own and at times will become detached from the pointer and snap to some invisible barrier, or at other times, I'll try to move the "H" icon and it'll slingshot to somewhere I didn't mean for it to go. Also, clicking that H icon can be tricky. Sometimes, I go to click it and it moves away instead of opening the dropdown.

5. Not a bug exactly, but may I suggest fixing the hotkeys throughout the app for us Mac users - you have them all using control + the key instead of command + the key. We Mac users have the muscle memory of using command for things like copy, paste and undo action hotkeys (command+c, command+v, command+z), not control.

6. In the HUD Editor, when I have a cell selected and wish to recolor either the stat or the background but just want to adjust its current color slightly (maybe make it a little darker or lighter or more or less saturated), I always have to re-pick the color again. The color dropdown should open with the current color already picked with its HEX value displayed so that I can just drag the picker to a new spot to adjust or drag the opacity slider to adjust its opacity. As it is now, even if all I want to do is adjust the opacity, if I click a cell and then go into the fill dropdown and try to just drag the opacity slider, it will change the cell's fill to the picker's default color and then I have to once again manually pick the color and then I can adjust the opacity. It's SUPER annoying and makes adjusting colors a rather frustrating endeavor. There's a similar behavior with the typographic formatting controls - the selected cell's formatting is never preselected, and if I try to change anything, it goes to default settings and color which I then have to manually re-adjust again. Please make these controls behave like they would in any other app.

Hello,

Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback and observations.

1. The issue with opening two Replayer windows is known and will be fixed in future updates for macOS. Unfortunately, there is no way to resolve this problem at the moment.

2. Regarding connected monitors, this issue is also known. As a temporary solution, you can try setting the connected monitor as the primary display, which might partially fix the problem.

3. Please try closing Hand2Note, then delete the HudPositionConfig.h2ncg file located in Documents\Hand2Note4\Config. This will reset the HUD positions and will likely resolve your issue.

4. Could you please record a short video demonstrating the problem? Then, send it to us along with a zipped folder of your logs (Documents\Hand2Note4\Logs) to support@hand2note.com.

5. Thank you for the suggestion, we will pass it on to the development team.

6. Regarding this issue, it currently works the same way in the Windows version as well. There might be an option to show the current cell template on double-clicking the cell in the future, as we've received similar requests.

We truly appreciate your feedback, and we apologize for the inconvenience you've experienced. If you encounter any other problems or have more suggestions, please don't hesitate to report it to us.
