I'm having trouble with some expression stats. As I try to troubleshoot this, I've come to find that I can have two separate expression stats, both with the exact same expression (99.99% confident in this) and yet the result will appear differently on the report. Also, both values are formatted the same way (via copy/paste styles) on the report. However, one shows up as a zero and the other as the correct value.

What could I be overlooking that would produce such a result?

Check the plain stats that are used in the formulas. Most likely the similar looking stats are actually using different plain stats in their expression. Expression string is case sensitive

Betting on the 0.01 chance are you?

Unfortunately this isn’t the case. They are exact matches. I created the first stat, checked that the value was correct. Then copy and pasted that formula into the new expression.

Here's an example:

Here is Stat 1 (This is showing the correct value in the report):

Here is Stat 2 (This is showing the incorrect value in the report):

Here is the report (Stat 1 = 89, Stat = 97)

As you can see the formulas in each stat are exactly the same, yet they produce different results. I've tried to see if this would be corrected if H2N is restarted, but it isn't.

As far as I can see, you use the same name for both the plain stat and the expression stat. Perhaps you have added different stats in your Popup, one of them is plain stat and the other is expression stat.

No, and this is easy to check since when I hover over them in the popup report the plain stat shows a popup window and the expression stat will only show the stat name. Also, the stats that I've shown the in screen shot are both Expression stats.

Did you check your plain stat folders regarding the duplicate stat names? Because that could be the only reason for seemingly same stats to display different values.
To clarify, did you rebuild stats after noticing this issue?

Thanks, this helped me find the issue. I had two plain stats with the exact same name and the expression stat must be pulling in the first stat it finds within the stats.

Is it possible to disallow having duplicate stat names?
