I want to try again at stars and I'm asking, because I've heard how the challenge becomes harder each month. Also, if one starts playing during the month does that mean the challenge will appear the next month? I'm undecided now if I should wait until March or start playing now if that would make me quality for a challenge next month.

As soon as you hit a certain chest level (silver iirc) you get offered a challenge instantly.
