We are rolling out a small client update this week. This software update will mostly contain increased support for upcoming promotions (not yet visible), but also includes several improvements to existing features and some bug fixes. Here are the things you are most likely to notice in this update:

Further Improvements for Rebuy Tournaments

After the update whenever you are eligible for a rebuy we will show a rebuy button directly on the table. The location of this button on the table will vary based on the theme you are using. Once the Add-on period starts, the button will change accordingly.

As a reminder, in the last update we introduced the ability to have more control of how exactly auto rebuy for tournaments works, and also added the dialog found at “Options” > “Auto Rebuy (Tournaments)...” where you can set default auto rebuy settings for new tournaments.

Focus Stealing

We have resolved a problem with focus stealing that was related to losing at showdown. This should improve the playing experience for players who stack tables.

Improvements to First Time Deposit Process

We are making improvements to the deposit process by improving the user experience at the first step where we collect and verify important personal information about the player. At this point this change will be for the French client only, and then we will roll out to other clients as well. While this is not something that will be visible in terms of a change to many players on the forum here, this change furthers our goal to make the initial experience for recreational players more streamlined.

Other improvements/bug fixes:

• A number of improvements to Table Starters, including an option to remember your preferred buy-in.
• Zoom tables will now properly show Happy Hour icons.
• The auto-rebuy option for tournaments will no longer sometimes block actions on other tables.
• Minor tweaks and improvements have been made to the client elements for the VIP Club Hall of Fame.
• Importing player notes will no longer mix up color labels.
• Several back-end VIP Store improvements that will help the user experience.
• It will now be possible to opt to discuss a deal in 4-max tournaments at the start of the final table which has 5 players.
• Many other bug fixes and usability tweaks.

Note: The above changes would only take effect once your gaming client has been updated, which could happen at different times for different players. Please ensure you are running PokerStarsUpdate.exe to get the update.

I'm going to expand this to say when opening the SNG lobby at any time. I have the option checked to disable lobbies from opening when I register, but I will still often open the lobby partway through the game. I get the same thing, no two lobbies every open in the same place.


Separate issue relating to the hand replayer:
If an opponent chooses to show one card at the completion of a hand, the replayer does not show this unless you replay the hand. When you first open up the replayer, it shows as if your opponent mucked both cards without showing.

It would be really nice for a seat change button to be implemented into cash game tables.

I'm only playing Hyper HUSNG, and as of today I see a small star at the top of the circle of the player icon. It disappears within seconds. What does it mean or why is it implemented?

Also the lobbies have been lagging horrible for the last 6 months.

When starting the client it opens, check for connection, then disappears completely for ~30 seconds before actually opening the main lobby + news.

After clicking on cashier, it now takes about 20-30 seconds to open it.

This was fixed with a patch yesterday. Pls let us know if you experience this after you get an updated client.

Re: Font size in chat: The idea is good and we still want to do it. I don't have specific timelines right now though.

Yes, we did deploy a patch for the issue yesterday. If you still experience Mac crashes do let us know!

Will the chat icons be introduced on the mac version of pokerstars as well? They are not shown yet.

Any reaction to the removal of the window that pops up after busting a sng asking whether you'd like to play another one? Makes me want to not play those sit n go's at all, me and everyone I've spoken to tilt their brains out when playing a significant amount of tables and these things pop up, steal focus and require more clicking.

Yes, we will introduce them, but are waiting first for the port of the client to Cocoa to be complete. Right now we are hopeful that we will have the new client in May and then be able to add emoticons, font options, and ring game lobby views.

To clarify, this is not a new pop up that we have added. There was a previous pop up in the exact same slot that behaved the exact same way in terms of focus stealing. We added some extra functionality and one more button to the pop up.

If you had third party software that would auto close those pop ups and now does not work anymore, I suggest to contact the software provider and ask them to update their software. There was nothing changed in terms of focus stealing for people who did not have third party software.

That said, the idea to have a customization option as to whether those pop ups show at all is a good one and we will try to add this when resources allow.

Please make this a priority. This popup is driving me insane. And to be honest with you i think popups in general is something that belongs in the 1990's. I doubt many players like this thing; on the contrary i believe a lot of players hate it. It's fixing a non problem. It's not hard to register from the lobby if one wants to play another one.

Lobby text: I might be confusing this with the PC client but was/is there an option to choose which font is used? I'm fairly sure this client release changes the font.

Can you confirm whether the tourney info refresh button/link inside the chat area is functional?

I'm pretty sure I've never seen this popup until a month or two ago but I believe you. A simple checkbox saying "Do not show this pop-up in the future" should do it. Tableninja does shut it off by shutting down the table but I don't always run it and it still steals focus (plus when I'm 30-tabling it tilts me every time I'm reminded a tournament has ended).

A filter for 3x turbos and 2x turbos would be cool.

Please can we have a check-box in the filters for MTTs for "LIVE" games. There are so many sats to the various live Pokerstars tours lately, and its really clogging up the lobby.
I would love to be able to disable these, as I have zero interest in playing them, and even if I did want to play them, I would go to the EVENTS tab.
