Since Stars has happy hour now for HU sngs, can we get some sort of counter to keep track of our play during the happy hours please.

Lots of problems at Fixed Limit tables atm.
There are 10max tables in 6 max filter.
Some tables appear as full, but when you open them they are either "closed" or empty, etc...
Half a table doesn't work.

Hi,

On the issue of PokerStars enabling players to restrict logins to their account to just a small number of IP addresses. We have previously considered various measures to limit a PokerStars account to just selected computers or IP addresses, but concluded that they were insufficiently secure. Instead, we are close to deploying a new feature that should act as an even stronger substitute for this.

There are a few key reasons why IP address protection will not offer any substantial security:

1) It is relatively easy to for a hacker to route their internet traffic through your IP address, and thus, appear to PokerStars to be connecting from your own IP address.

This is because the overwhelming majority of account hackings are perpetrated by people who have the ability to control software running on the PC of the victim.

After all, if a hacker is able to obtain your password to your PokerStars, then they're also likely to be able to do other nasty things to your PC.

The vast majority of successful hacks come from two sources - either a hacker is able to socially engineer a password (most often by access to a player physically) or through some sort of keylogging software (which proves that they're able to put software on the infected users' PC). There is a variety of software freely available (such functions are even built-in to Windows) that allows traffic to be routed via an ordinary Windows PC, and consequently, hide the true IP address of the malicious hacker.

2) Restricting IP addresses would have little security improvement on the vast majority of PokerStars users who have dynamic IP addresses, although we accept that it may be helpful for some.

3) Using the player's IP address as an additional authentication check is really just a weak form of physical authentication: if you want to add the additional security of physical authentication, then we recommend you use one of our RSA Security Tokens.

PokerStars operates a world-leading account security system that is based upon the principle of two-factor authentication: something you know (your password) and something you have (your RSA Security Token). Substituting the "something you have" for an IP address or computer would really just end up being a less secure version of the RSA Security Token: it might provide some good security theatre on the surface, but PokerStars is in the business of providing options that are truly secure.

However, the real solution to this problem is to generate authentication hurdles that cannot be overcome in this fashion. This is why we have introduced the PokerStars PIN and RSA Security Token.

In addition, we have done a fair amount of work on some new features that we hope to deploy "soon" in this area. These new features should substantially satisfy your requests about restricting access to certain PCs.

Hope that this helps!

How to turn off the new popup after busting from an SNG (register to a new games / close window)? I find it extremely annoying esp. as had to see it first mid-session. Thanks

How to disable that horrible popup when you finish tournament?!?!?!? Came out of nowhere while 30+tabling and kept on stealing focus. Ruined session = less rake paid. You're welcome i suppose

Quick post on this: This is not a new pop up -- we have simply added the option to register for another Sit & Go to the existing pop up after busting form a Sit & Go. Before you should have still seen a pop up when you bust -- now the pop up simply has a bit more functionality.

FWIW, you can completely disable the busting pop up and auto close tourney table by going to "Options" > "Advanced Multi-Table Options" and checking "Auto-close tournament without notification".

we want just not to have any pop up when we bust

and asap let ctrl+s (register to similare sng work again)

also it would be nice to be able to buy in HOT MTT's with FPP (buy ticket in vip store) same as it is able to buy ticket for BIG's

It is a good feature - recreationals can register to another game quickly and regs can have their software handle the pop-ups.

agree, but still a checkbox to disable it would be fine, sometimes id like to see how i've lost a tournament and closing tables automaticly is not good for that.

Its a good feature just could have been implemented better. Currently i have two option: keeping the popup that stealing focus (for me its outright annoying) and clicking manually close or disabling it and than the table closes asap after the last hand not leaving me any chance to open the replayer / hh tab or to mark the last.

It would be nice if you could implement some options that would allow us to not dealing with the "sng rematch" button but keeping the table open for a little while.

The exiting popup keeps stealing focus. It is so tilting when I have a bustout every few seconds. Please fix it so the popup DOES NOT steal focus.

That new sng popup is the nutworst. And like everyone else said if you have tables snap close you cant mark bustout hands. And if you leave it up it steals focus. Had to quit sess early cause it was just too annoying. I guess Ill just start autoclosing them but you guys should really give us the option to disable that.

I hated the new sng popup too. Tilting. also quit my session earlier... Of course you can disable it by autoclosing the tournament, but you can't mark or see the bustout hand as rusemandigo said.

My hotkey autopresses ok and I haven't downloaded the latest update, so I don't know how this would work in practice, but yea, I never autoclose the tourneys I lose; I always check how I got knocked out.

Is it just me or all Stars' updates this year are aimed against regular players?

ie aimed at recreational / occasional players? And that would be a bad thing?

changes targeting recreational players are helping regulars more than if they would directly target these regulars, so stars keep wheelin them in!

nah, the bad thing is having to find out about it while multitabling and getting the session bricked.

at least, stars make something to disable that new sng popup button without having to choose the autoclose tournament. people like to see how they are knocked of the tournament most of the times...
