PokerStars: General discussion
[PokerStars] Software Improvement Thread
Wrong, pokerstars.eu is only for certain countries, most of Europe is still on .com. pokerstars.fr is the one that anyone with a European bank account can play on.
Why would you even want to play on .eu if you're in Canada? You can play on .com, which is pretty much exactly the same. Really, the only noticeable difference is that I can't click on links to pokerstars.com because they just redirect to pokerstars.eu/use_the_default_language_for_my_country_instead_of _the_language_I_chose/
Oh, and there were a couple of reload bonuses the rest of the world didn't get.

Not too many good sundays out there other thatn on stars.com and one or two games on lock and micro gaming for sunday majors. I wanted to add a couple more events to my sunday grind is why.
No.
PokerStars.eu and PokerStars.com share player pools. You can only play on one or the other. Additionally, PokerStars.eu is only available to residents of certain countries.
PokerStars.fr and PokerStars.it are each separate sites with their own separate player pools. PokerStars.it only allows play from those with Italian tax identification numbers that are typically only held by Italian citizens and long term residents. PokerStars.fr allows most players with European bank accounts to play.
PokerStars.eu is very, very different from each of PokerStars.fr and PokerStars.it.

Not sure if this is the right section, but it seems to fit the best without starting a new thread.
Saw the discussions about Zynga offering real money tables, imo this is best capitalised by them releasing a client, basically using their huge play money player base and then becoming a compeititor like all other real money sites.
So in reverse of what Zynga could possibly do, has Pokerstars considered releasing a facebook app? Only for play money. Kind of a starting point/teaser for people who have never played poker or are even skeptical of online poker sites. I for one, actually learned how to play poker by using the zynga app on facebook as im sure many others have done as well.
Apologies if this isn't suited to the thread.

I got a survey from pokerstars about a week ago asking me questions to do with social networking and personal profile type stuff.
I could be wrong but it seems they may be creating some sort of personal player profiles that allow you to interact with other players. They have already headed in that direction with the boom player which seems pretty cool and I hope it comes back.
I am just speculating obv but would be cool to see
^ Ctl+i or (mac) cmd+i brings up the HH viewer
Means they are logged in on Pokerstars.net iirc, the version of the software without real money games.

I think you pay a lot more on the .fr site so you should not want to player there.
Creating a Pokerstars.fr account is straightforward; visit www.pokerstars.fr and download the client.
Hi,
Can you please add how many tourney's we are register/playing onto the main lobby, I keep getting SNG-tables that don't open up when SNG starts and just get blinded off, doing CTRL-R to see what tourney's I'm register for is not enough, I play 20+ tables and need to know how many I have going so I know how many did not open, this happens to me at least 10~20 times a week.
. . .or add a function to open all SNGs-tables that I'm playing.
Is anyone seeing the problem above?
how do i roll-back to previous stars version?
last night's update messed up the hem1 hud for zoom and i don't expect hem to fix it in the timeframe i need
thanks

this. it ****ed up my tiltbuster theme :/
playing ZOOM i clicked the sit out next BB thing for all tables and the table I clicked it on was dealing me a hand then closed the table. I know it was PLO50 Aquarius Dwarf and am pretty sure it was on #3.
Also it seems either your software can not count hands or HEM2 is making them up for ZOOM.

Re: ZOOM hand count -- Can you elaborate what exactly does not match?
Great!
Just now i again experienced another bug regarding Sit Out (I'm surprised this hasn't been fixed since it was reported months ago):
When you've clicked Sit Out Next BB, and you're supposed to post big blind in one of your tables (masstabling stacked/cascaded), you do in fact sit out, but the table gets focused/activated, leaving other tables requiring action "behind" and essentially timing out.
This is extremely annoying: Yes you sit me out, great, but i don't really need to know - I expect it to simply work. In fact this should work like this: The next table requiring action, or if none; a table where you are not yet sitting out at, should get focused (switched to), and leaving all the tables i'm now sitting out at silently in the background.

Hi
I'm wondering if you can help me with a problem I'm having. When I click on "find a player" if they are seated at tables a white pop up box appears and shows all the tables they're seated at.
However, if they are seated at lets say 10 tables and I want to open all 10 tables, each time I click on a table to open it, it opens and covers the white pop up box, then I have to click on the pop up box in my task bar to bring it to the forefront to open another table, rinse and repeat multiple times. Is there any way to keep the pop up showing while the tables are opened in the background?
Also another problem I'm having is when I log in and click "remember password" it never does and I have to re enter it each time I open the software, why is this?
Thanks.

Re: Remember password: Please email support@pokerstars.com with the issue and they will try to identify the problem.
Any chance you could show in the lobby which seat on a table is free and have a 'take seat' button, would save me having to open a table and insta-close it when i see that the free seat is on the left of like 5 regs. iPoker has this feature btw and their software sucks!

Does it matter if it is widespread or not?
Given what caused this and the fact this has been going on for almost 5 years there must be others with simular problems, that can only be fixed by PokerStars. -I assume all the issues I complained about the past years and am still facing today are caused by this, because they are all controlled by this user ini file.-
I haven't been able to play real poker all that time because I can't even control my !@#$%^& betsizes.

You are experiencing a lot of issues with your play on PokerStars which are not shared by other players. Most probably something is wrong with your PokerStars installation and the best way to look into the issue is to email support and they will take it from there. If you run into issues with Support please PM me your User ID.
- Make [country] a different and sortable column, so people can find their country fellows in large fields which makes railing a lot easier in bigger tourneys like SCOOP, Sunday Million etc.
And probably you missed my previous 2 suggestions as you didn't comment on it, while you commented every other suggestion above and below my suggestions:
- Please add a countdown to next level clock in the table window for SNGs.
- Please make it possible to save filters as favorite (with the option to save multiple favorites)

Re: Countdown to next level: We have something that will achieve the same result planned, but it's further down the road.
Re: Saved filters: We are looking into this.
SitOutOnNextBB is still bugging like crazy. Seriously, how can the following bug still not have been fixed?! (It has been pointed out for months by several players and explained in depthl!!!):
CAN
YOU
PLEASE
FIX
THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- You're masstabling stacked.
- You press SitOutNextBB (don't close) via the Session Option button.
- You're about to click fold/raise on a table where you are next to act..
- BOOM! Another table steals focus showing you you are now sitting out (I'm back button)
- The table i was about to act upon is hidden (behind in the stack)
- That table and all tables i am still being dealt in (to act on) times out because a now-sitting-out-table is at the top of the stack. <-- ?!!?!??!!?!
CAN
YOU
PLEASE
FIX
THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just send an email to support of Stars for this:
Making an automatic hand selection fold preflop.
You select a range of hands from a chart you want to automatically fold, and what position.
This way, 24 tabling would be a LOT more easier and fast.
If this was suggested before, let me know. For me , it would be a great improvement.

I'd like to ask to implement "Send tournament AND hand history for last # tournaments" both in mobile and normal client.
If I play say 20 tournaments with mobile client, I have to manually request HH of each tournament by entering their number...
Also it would be nice to have "Auto add-on" feature in mobile client, it is pretty difficult not to miss add-on, even when 3-tabling on mobile client, when there's re-buy period end break and one still can't buy add-on.

Can you please add an option to allow you to enter multiple SNGs in drop down window rather than the current process of having to registered in each SNG would save players heaps of time. Much you can do in Zoom where you can select upto 4 tables why cant I do the same with SNGs?
This behavior is not theme specific and we do want to fix it, but it is more complicated than it seems. Not sure when it will be possible to adjust this.
Hello 2+2,
We are planning to release a client update over the next few days that will introduce some new and exciting features. Estonian and .Net clients were already released and rest of clients are planned for the following days. Here are the details:
Table Themes Customization Improvements (Beta)
We are adding more improvements to the ability to customize the look of the tables. We are bringing all customization options into one dialog that is directly accessible from the table:
This dialog replaces the previous Table Themes dialog. Changes:
Table Groups (Beta)
We are making some changes to the way table groups work to streamline the user interface and improve functionality.
The biggest change is that the “Play Now” button (previously “Seat Me”) will now act like Easy Seat – if an empty seat does not currently exist, the player will be progressively added to waiting lists and the system will keep looking in the background for an empty seat at a table of this type. There are plans to even create new tables by seating players who are all using Play Now.
In addition, we have introduced a simpler initial view with a new toggle to see the list of tables and players, and we have removed the expanding/collapsing functionality.
We are making this feature available to real money players, but it is disabled by default. To enable the feature please go to ‘Options’ > ‘Lobby Display Options’ > ‘Group Similar Tables’.
Once the feature is active you will see an On/Off toggle in the main lobby that will allow you to easily revert to previous view. The toggle will only show if you don’t have Easy Seat enabled, due to space constraints.
We would love feedback from players on this feature!
Tournament Color Options (Beta)
We are adding a new menu in the ‘Options’ drop-down called ‘Tournament Color Options...’.
From this dialog you can configure what colors tournaments use in the main lobby and choose to disable certain colors. You can also disable all coloring of the lobby and just have a black and white lobby.
Easy Seat Advanced Options
We are adding the Filter advanced options to Easy Seat that will allow you to specify additional criteria for the tables Easy Seat considers. For example, min average pot, min average stack, etc.
Beta Options Menu
We have added a lot of new functionality over the past few updates and decided to add a new “Beta Options” menu that will allow players to easily see what the latest Beta features are. To access it simply go to ‘Options’ > ‘Beta options’.
As always, there are many small improvements to the existing product offering, especially around ZOOM poker. We are also fixing the tournament lobby update issue.
Note: The above changes would only take effect once your gaming client has been updated, which could happen at different times for different players. Please ensure you are running PokerStarsUpdate.exe to get the update.

- All themes now support multiple felt and background options.
- Custom Felt Color. Don’t like the colors we have pre-selected? No problem, pick your own!
- More visibility to changing the deck front and back design.
- The back design of the deck is not tied to the front design of the deck, so you can mix and match.
- The dialog has a preview area of the table for quick feedback on the changes.
- We have added two new profiles, “All Sit & Go tables” and “All ZOOM tables”. So now you can have different felt color, background or theme based on the type of game. Just select a different profile from the “Apply To” drop-down and apply your changes to that profile.
- An option to apply the changes via the right-click table drop-downs to the current table only, as the default. This is accessed from the lobby via ‘View’ > ‘Right-Click: Apply Changes to This Table Only’.

Could you please stop working on them? A half second browse through the MTT suggestions thread will give you a good idea on whether or not this is wanted (hint: it isn't)
Also, the lobby lag is still there for me after the update.
Suggestion: the long-forgotten "registered in tournaments" window
1) please add "unregister from all" button. For now, there is no way to quickly unregister from all the mtt's (without using third-party software).
2) if I double-click chosen mtt, the window closes. It should stay open.
3) please make the window resizeable. It's small and not very user-friendly.
Also, have you added the option to hide your country in the tournament lobby? I can't locate it anywhere, yet some players don't have their country displayed anymore.
Seeing as you're on a run of replying to posts at the moment, here's a recap of some older posts ITT

And I'm pretty sure people were asking for this before Jan last year too. This is really crucial information for tournament players to be able to see at a glance, even if it's irrelevant for cash game play. When is this improvement going to happen? It's a pretty simple cosmetic thing, as the software already knows the stack size of the sit-outer, it just has to display it more prominently, i.e. without having to waste time to find the mouse, and then hover the cursor over the sit-out player.
Here are a couple of suggestions from earlier ITT on how you could do it
1) Adding a third line to the little info box beside each seat
2) Adding a universally recognisable symbol to the box, instead of placing the text "Sitting out" where the stack size needs to be.
Even if you make it another display option, a choice between showing the stack size and the current non-optional way of not showing the stack size, at least give us a choice. You do so many other changes on display options, so why not this one, which is actually important?
At the very least, please acknowledge this idea. I'm far from the only person who wants this; it would be a huge improvement for every SNG grinder, and tourney players too.

Re: Registered in tournaments: Thanks, some of these are already in the works and others are nice suggestions!
The challenge has been that any solution complicates the experience of most players who don't need to see this additional information and are happy the way things are. Icon is not intuitive and adding a third row of text clutters the table.
Perhaps the best solution is to have this as an option that is off by default and which will allow advanced players to have this view.
.EU:
Stefan, could you also address the issue I mentioned in the edit please:
Also, have you added the option to hide your country in the tournament lobby? I can't locate it anywhere, yet some players don't have their country displayed anymore.
No, we haven't added such an option. I will raise the issue why some players are not showing their country.
.
note, my /pokerstars.eu/backup folder is empty

I realise many people would be happy with things the way they are, which is why having it as an option would be fine. I can see that maybe the icon isn't so intuitive, but the third row of text, displaying "Sitting Out", could slide out when needed; it wouldn't have to be there all the time, so most of the time most seats would still have just the two lines, keeping the table as clutter-free as possible.
Just as long as we can see their stack size.

I mean, when i'm about to time out in a hand in zoom, the time out sound doesn't play. Instead it plays at random times... very irritating to have no audible warning.
I checked all the sound settings, it's active, but it never plays right before my hand is gonna be folded. Some sort of warning sound would be very appreciated.

All I was asking is ability to request both HH and TS's for X last tournaments, it would be very handy for MTT/SNG players, doesn't matter which client gets it first, because after playing on mobile, you can request HH and TS from desktop app later.
This is happening for a long time. I don't know if it was intentional, but I liked the old way more.
This is play money because I didn't feel to sit in at a real money table, but the problem happens at all tables and formats (that I've played at)

The lobby lag is STILL existing? This is a huge deal and should have been resolved during the SCOOP event. I would expect an ace company such as PS to have dedicated all efforts and resources into fixing this, giving it upmost priority.
