actually your default setting is fine cos the guy above mixed the settings up.
with openGLsetting=4 means your GPU takes the load

anyway you can check it in the task manager it shows in % how big is the load on your CPU/GPU while running PS.
you can see the difference when you try both the settings ( 1 or 4).

Recently returned to Stars. As soon as I install any mod I lose sounds and the client goes all mute. When I go to the Sounds tab, everything looks fine and I can even preview the sounds and they work. But my tables are totally mute, until I reinstall the client.

Is there some workaround with that? Odd that a simple FPT deck mod destroys all the sounds.

Recently I have been having many many issues with the stars software, similar to described above. I contacted support and they advised me first to change the openGLsetting to 1 (as suggested upthread), but it was already set to this value. Then they told me to delete the user.ini file, which should lead to the software creating a new file with the right settings. However, the issues remained. The latest response of support is that "they are working on the issue".

I then tried changing the setting to 4, but when I do that at some point all my tables freeze and I can't close stars. Tried to reinstall as well, problems remain.

Anyone with a working, lasting solution or should I start looking into other sites?

Hey PokerStars, if you ever look at this thread, please remove the clown "phase" sattys from the main lobby. I've already unticked that I dont want to sattys, respect my choices. Has to be the worst UX on any site currently and it used to be by far the best.

Yea the "please restart your client" message has hit me quite a few times. I opened my computer performance control panel while I played and these numbers were fine. I think the GPU might have been around 30%,(5 tables) but that wouldn't cause a crash right? Not sure what to do. Played on a desktop for 2+ years and never received that message once...get an HP laptop for xmas and getting drilled...luckily I haven't been in any big pots when it has struck, but it is only a matter of time.

Yes. It only seems to happen for me when I join the software right around the time the leaderboard ends for the day and resets to the new one (6-7am CET).

Hello guys.
I have a great news for those who have table freezing problem with pokerstars aurora graphics.
If you are experiencing such kind of problem, apparently you have an amd graphics card - catalyst.
The thing is that old Amd graphics card (Radeon HD 5xxx , 6xxx , 7xxx , 8xxx ) have to types of drivers: Catalyst and Crimson.
Aurora graphics don't get on well with catalyst , that's why the soft crashes after several moves after logging in the lobby.
During installation ,Windows 7/8/10 automatically installs Catalyst drivers.
All you have to do is to find out which model of Amd Radeon you have, delete Catalyst driver and install Crimson.
This worked for me.
Hope the post will be helpful for you , since returning to old pokerstars is impossible.

Any PLO players out there not able to see leader board scores? I open the leader board tab and it only shows NLHE cash game scores. Also tried on my phone mobile app. Same,
And also tried logging on the website. Doesnt show there either.
Reported to chat and they are clueless as usual. Asked me for screen shots and told me to try to clear cache and restart. Its happening on 2 different devices on client, mobile app and their website and they're trying to say the issue is on my side? WTF?

Leaderboard ****ed for me too.

I can only see 4 of the NLH leader boards (none of which I've joined) and also the completed leaderboards are out of date.

I just got an email follow up from PS. Now they want log files and screen shots... I am not a programmer or by any means a computer expert but it makes absolutely no sense. The first step in basic troubleshooting of anything is to verify the problem. How difficult is it for them to open the client or mobile app or website just to see what I am talking about?? I also told them about it happening on 2 different devices across 3 of their platforms (client, mobile, website). What will log files do?? And now another 2+2 user reports same issue here. Its like they didnt even read the complaint...

yesterday i thougth i was trippin
i found out that nl10-nl50 are missing the cg leaderboard
and seems like the same today!

i wasn't making a fortune with them anyway but still disappointed!

edit: today i ran the PS updater thinking maybe just me cant see all LBs cos of the relatively old version i'm using. (chill out bois it was also an aurora version ) ofc didn't solve the problem!

are the leaderboards just missing for you to see or are you opted out from the leaderboards as well?

i had this problem last year where i couldnt check results of leaderboard but next day did get to open a chest from the leaderboard

the problem is not i am excluded of the lists but i can't see the lists i opted in! i did not opted out and doubt they excluded me.

i opted in all the stakes (i wanted to play) a few days ago when the new LBs started. now i can not see the most of them in the list.
i haven't got any coffins since the 200 hand rule came in. i can not see those stakes in the running LBs nor the completed ones.

just to be clear: not just those stakes evaporated which i opted in. one of them i can see and one i didn't opted in also disappeared. so i got no clue what is going on

I have custom table position saved and remember table layout checked, so can anyone tell me why the **** does stars decide to randomly popup new tables in different location on screen, full size tables that overlap my other tables, or even sometimes popup behind my other tables where it goes unnoticed and gets satout blinded down. I then have to click tile tables again while constantly missing spots due sitout, considering im playing 14k games per month 8 tables spins flash you can imagine how tilting this is. Really starting to think this bug is intentional to **** over challenge chasing regs

Yeah it's intentional to piss of the regs. There is a simple solution to re arrange your tables but I'm not gonna tell you that. It's a combination of two btns and you can find it in the client. Imagine if you only played 7 flashes and 13k games in a month. You would be tilt free.

for the players that never updated or bypass the forced update, so they dont play the aurora but the old engine, does this in any way change the current rakeback system? i.e. challenges tab (and leaderboards when active) run the same as advertised?

Clearly im aware of the tile table hotkey, but why should i need to use it 100 times per hour? There is a "Remember table positioning function" that only works 75% of the time. I could have clicked the register dialog at the end of a game 3 times successfully and the table opens correct, then randomly decides to pop the next one full screen

As far as I know, everything worked fine, but the hack to avoid Aurora itself was a pain because every new client dialogue box meant i had to deactivate the upgrade window and couldn't interact with the lobby until them.
