Are there ever Omaha cash promos? I've never seen them, so don't even bother looking anymore

lol what a response. I think it's pretty shady to do a promotion like this that applies to every stake level. I was going to play $109s plus before I saw that virtually no table was hitting a 3x.

CardMatch was live for PLO high for a good chunk of November.

At first glance this challenge seems pretty tough to complete and the prizes are bigger than usual. They probably just want to cover themselves in case there is some angle they haven't thought of that will make the challenge easier and way more people complete it than they expect.

ya i get that...i guess im not asking a question ...more kinda pissed as i would imagine i will have to be awake earlier than i want since it only starts at 8am et.

and they can take it away whenever they want so feels like cant be late to party

Thanks, David and promo team for bringing this challenge back. Just two days ago I posted that dream payout and I was like this is never ever happening again and today I got proved soo wrong.

The most popular (read: impossibly generous) Christmas promotion is back.. exactly the same rules and same prizes as two years ago.

The only difference is the special message about "withdrawn without notice". That means this is a limited time first-win-first-served ... and that means when it is gone it is GONE even if you are half way there. Might only last an hour or two.

Set your alarms, tell your friends, it's Celebration time at the 180s. There's a six figure amount being paid out today my bet is that the sharps in this thread are going to eat all the sandwiches early.

They have limited amount to give and when this money are win they will cancel it im pretty sure so im not sure must i try to play i like 180 mans buts playing them in big volume to get 2 1 st places could lead to big variance and if they remove it will be a total scam.

And sry i forget to mention that most of the money u will give from this promo will be covered by the rake from these 180 mans ,sng have pretty big rake and i still dont know why.

I have a couple of questions.

1) The challenge is supposed to start in 3 h 5 min. Let's say I have already started playing these 180s and by the time this challenge becomes available and I'm on the final table already and few mins later I ship it, will this win be eligible for this challenge or only the tourneys which you registered once you clicked on Start and thereafter won will only be considered?

2) Are all the 180s eligible for this promo including the 0.50 and $1 hyper 180s?

Not really important but just out of curiosity if you could share:

3) How many players completed this challenge two years ago? And how many players are you expecting to complete today's within the timeframe mentioned above?

Also, imho if you're expecting 200-300 players to complete today's challenge than I think today's 25k all in shootout should be paid out to majority of players (80% or in fact everybody) instead of just 10%

Assuming I know my chance of winning first place in a 180, what is the formula for figuring out my chances of winning two 180s over an n number of games?

Happy to put this here, but not on the actual challenge page in client? Thats just awful. Look at the assumptions of what the message on the challenge page meant before you clarified here. You're going to have a lot of upset customers today due to this. If I was a recreational player who got lucky and won one of these, then before winning a second, noticed the promotion had been cancelled, I would never play on Pokerstars again.

No doubt this is one of the best promos stars ever but have to agree with the bolded part.

What they can do is if they mention this on the challenge window something like - this challenge is eligible for only first 250 players who wins both the 180s instead of saying "this may be withdrawn at our discretion, without notice." At least this way a player wouldn't feel that upset as he/she will realize that there are already 250 players who have completed this challenge. I don't think the majority of your players will be expecting this to be over very soon and they will get upset because I think players would expect this promo to run for at least 7-8 hrs and they won't be checking the challenge window every hour or so.

As long as the win happens *after* you opt-in and *before* challenge is withdrawn, it will be counted irrespective of when you register.

Only 180-man SNGs count, all buyins.

I am not in a position to share that exact detail; I can say that this time we will give away about 1/3rd of what we gave away last time.


We have just modified the shootout so that all those who *opt-in* are included, not just those who complete the challenge.

It is clearly stated that it can end at our discretion at some point today without notice. If you hit the info button it confirms that it will end without notice. There may be a very small number of players who have one in the bag and are e.g. heads-up on another when the hammer falls, but my data shows that is very unlikely.

Note; the one element we have added is that all players who attempt it get to play a sizeable shootout at the end of the day; taking part gives value in its own right.

To be honest, the majority of players will see two 180-mans as a very difficult hurdle and will not necessarily engage. It takes a lot of luck - or a lot of play - to hit this challenge.

When we conceived of the "Ghost of Christmas Past" back in August, is was the 2+2 community we had in mind after the runaway success the last time around. That is why I posted the notice here today, as I expect most of the winners will come from the regular players here.

How will we know that the promotion has ended?

This is exactly what I'm talking about. The greediness with these promos is disgusting!

Last years we had RB and we where showering in promotional money, basically every player had a chance to win 4 figure amount if he's lucky and it was fun and exciting.

Now they took away our rakeback AND drastically reduced the promotional budget. One would think that savings from rakeback could go to promotions, but nope. Not with present day PokerStars.

The challenge will vanish from challenge window.

i would like to participate at this challenge, but i dont have spare time before evening. so write down the feedback there are some sad customers about the decision to make it only for few most hurry/lucky but i guess **** happens, so fingers crossed for next days promos
