Sounds good! Today's CardHunt has 0.003% for $5,000 and this is pretty pretty bad.

Will you publish the results, please?

I'll bet you personally $20 that over 75% take the flat prize, probably closer to 90%.

Also, if you want 200+ players to get $100 then why do you turn literally every promotion into some kind of lottery?

You know when 200+ players got the $100? ... When you had reasonable rakeback

Interestingly for me, my probability to win $5k for completing this challenge is 0.001% and the most likely to hit is $0.20 - 55% but I can play at any stake but limit games are excluded.

What stakes have you guys got?

The other day when we had Deal challenge, my min stake was 0.05/0.10 but the limit games were not excluded and I did complete the challenge happily but today I didn't even opt-in. I find this very inconsistency and I don't like this at all.

one more question: I saw somewhere that when you complete 10 different challenges you get some extra prize (again, zero info on that in the lobby, and since stars website does not work in my country, I had to read it somewhere random, but whatever), is there any way to check how many challenges you already completed? Also, do challenges where you only had to opt in and do nothing count towards that? Because if so, I definetly completed at least 10 and got nothing.

Thanks for the heads-up. I didn't know about this 10 challenge thing.
Here's a quote from the website for everyone else who has not noticed this:

Quote:
Take on and complete 10 or more offers for entry to a Christmas Day Freeroll with $100,000 to be won, plus another $30,000 in random prize drops.
I can't see the tourney in the lobby yet, so we will just have to wait to see how the registration will happen, but I'd imagine the eligible players will be autoregged on the tourney.

I don't think there's any way to check how many challenges you have completed.

I don't remember. Has there been a decent deposit bonus offer during this promotion or nothing yet -except of course today's one with the freeroll?

This is the first deposit related one.

do u have to sit-in for all in freerolls to be included??

The 180man promotion was really good but very limited. Was about $500 equity if you won 2 of em.

No, no need to have the client open.

For my own "playing responsible" rule I decided to only deposit once 20$ on stars and to not put more money on it. I am now at around 200$ and paid roughly over 100$ of rake.
Is it safe to deposit 15$ for the 3-4$ bonus ev at the Shootout and withdraw 15$ the next day?
I am not too sure as Pokerstars has the right to not let me withdraw under circumstances.

I just dont want to miss something small print somewhere like at the 180man challenge which ended way earlier than expected

You can't cashout untill 48hrs after depositing and you need to wager you deposit once.

Can someone in the name of the Lord create this game:

Holdem where you have to use both your hole cards

An all in ends in current street (if preflop, only the flop is showed)

Im not kidding, that's the ultimate "Poker" skill game. That's where you can actually play "Poker" the way it's supposed to be played.

Lol this is very weird and pointless idea. No offence but it's really stupid.

ITs not stupid its really becoming much more skill than luck if this was the rules cuz most of the fish/fun/bingo players would almost never win then but this isnt the rules and will be not implemented cuz the site dont want regs or good players to have even more edge than the others which i mention.
I will be happy to see some kinds of holdem i mean for example same rules but with 104 cards so every card is 2 times in the deck and u can have 2 aces of spades it will be funny to have 2-3 tourneys like that or with 1 or 2 cards after the river just to have more fun or like this guy said if u are all in preflop only 3 cards open if u are all in on the turn ,no river comes.I will be happy if stars try to implement them for a while(5-6 tourneys per day each) and if they are not good to remove them .easy-peasy

Sounds terrific! I look forward to the "skill" of flopping the one-card nut flush draw and having no way of improving even when a 4th or especially 5th suited card is dealt, and also having only top trips when the board is double-paired by the river!

"Skill".

I was going to say that promotions are good (200 monday million tickets) but then i see the whole world play for them again .Atleast if u give limited award make it limited to register i mean some challenge which is not too hard but not too soft also ...same to a lot of the promotions...

+1. If the value for the promotions would be atleast in dollars instead of cents.

I wanted to say the same but you was first
It's really stupid to have a promo like that: "200 tickets and 50,000 entrants".
The best promotion yet is 180 man when you had to win 2 of them and then get a really good reward. All others are just pity.

It's hard to tune them perfectly. People really dug the 'opt in and get shootout' mechanic a lot more than expected, so the F/R were lower EV per player than I'd have liked. We will consider better sophistication in future... perhaps just play a few hands to get to the F/R and then complete the challenge to get a better prize (or select-a-challenge as discussed above).

Overall, this thread has been really useful and fun to be part of for the past 25 days... the feedback has been great, and has made a difference to some of the Q1 and Q2 plans.

Also happy Christmas. My son got this from Santa: https://shop.lego.com/en-IE/The-Joker-Manor-70922

...which means my plans over christmas are now very well defined.

Lol the christmass freeroll was good 3 k players 130 k prizes not 30 k players 130k prizes...If all freerolls was like thas for example when prize is 5-10$k to have only 500-1k-2k players not all site recs which shove every hand.Anyway this tourney was turbo atleast when have big prizes make them no less than 6-7 min blinds...

Very rewarding christmas freeroll, although my family did not appreciate me being on my phone for 1hour of the christmas dinner -.-

Totally worth it tho. 10/10 would do it again

Hi,

I haven't played for several years and am currently planning a rebuild project. I understand that Stars has a new VIP System but I couldnt find any Details about how much RB you really get... Some say it s like 5%, other say it is around 10-30% but no one tells details on how much RB a Player can expect for a certain volume, i.e. 100$ monthly rake, 500$ monthly rake, 1k monthly rake etc.

All the info I found is very vague so it would be cool to get a more exact info. I am sure thios has been posted or discussed somewhere, so any hints are highly appreciated And thanks in advance

Kropotking,

The rewards program offered at PokerStars is mostly not based on the volume that you play. Instead, they appear to be focused on issues such as net deposits, and probably other things as well. I do not think that the parameters that they use are public, so you're not going to be able to make an accurate comparison between what you might obtain on PokerStars, as compared to another site.

If you are primarily concerned with making money, the rewards program of a site is only one part of the decision making process that you should apply - you should also consider
(b) your win rate at the various games (which is a function of the format of the games, the relative skill between you and your opponents, the availability of those games), and
(c) the amount of rake that is taken by sites in the first place.

Thanks for your reply. I already compared various sites based on their rake structure, softness, software, prevalence of bots etc. (see my post in the "Where should I play thread"). However, the missing piece is at least a sound approximation of possible returns based on the volume I play on a given stake.
