anyone else getting random 10 second freezes with the stars client? it's def not my computer as its very high end (16GB ram) and everything worked great prior to this week. I can't tell if it's stars connection or some issue with third party software such as my hud, but it happens every hour or so (can't move my mouse, screen locks up temporarily). Also noticing subtle lag from time to time.

The 10k stars coins for $100 doesnt seem to refresh for me? After purchasing my first one the option is no longer available to buy another.

I like how there's the ww1283 guy that plays every day and he vanishes now we have a ww2524 account that show up with the same location and exact same stats obviously making a 2nd account to clear the $600 deposit bonus I E-Mail Stars and they don't do anything for a week now.

Very good high integrity regulated site!

But no one reads this thread so everyone can just cheat their ass off lol

They effectively have a monopoly on online poker in PA

The cost of taxes/fees/licensing/regulation/etc is high af

So the rake is high and the rakeback is low

It's basically run like a giant sports book/casino and poker is a third wheel that has no interest in catering to winning players. They want everyone to lose, apparently

The chests are lame. At least the last 3 chests have been ~7% rakeback for me and it drains my soul every time

@ diamond $234 to clear a bar, get back $15 cash and 470 progress bar pts

234 - 4.7 = 229.3 ---> 15 / 229.3 = .065

6.5%...

Not that I hope for this, but I think It's only going to get worse once the honeymoon period is over ($600 bonus for initial deposits, novelty wears off, rake starts killing off bankrolls faster, particularly the breakeven and small winning grinders). Just wait until those bonuses expire (I think it was April or March or sth) and all those players who don't play nearly enough to clear the whole thing see their money evaporate even quicker than it already does...while also losing out on some or most of the bonus

Is there any reason to expect any different given we see how NJ et al has gone?

Everyone knows the games will get worse and the pool will shrink with time. It's happening everywhere else, too. I agree that Stars rakeback is disappointing, but it's still higher than Ignition and Betonline. Even without rakeback, Stars rake is lower. You get more hands per hour per table. You can play more tables. There are more recs. There are no Europeans grinding 50 hours a week for <$10/hour. There are no bots. The vast majority of people who ARE winning are far from GTO nerds.

People can win money in their home game or their casino game then deposit on Stars instantly and start blasting. Poker is fun, man.

I was able to deposit from out-of-state initially. I put $100 on there to test and it went through fine. I am in PA today, hoping to play their main event and some other tourneys. I went to put more money on my account this morning and PayPal keeps declining my transactions to Stars. Was on the phone with them for a while and they apparently can't do anything about it.

EDIT: I had initially asked if someone could do a stars transfer. However, I found the "PayNearMe" option instead shortly after I posted. Already have the money in my account after depositing at the 7-11 nearby maybe 10 mins ago.

Just my thoughts after dealing with stars the last two months:

First, if anyone part of the stars company reads this and wants to improve the company. Almost all of their support members are incompetent. KEVIN is a great employee, and actually tried to help me solve problems. Although KEVIN couldn't solve hte software problem, he actually tried, and portrait a positive attitude. People like KEVIN make me want to keep coming back to the site. Then you have JOY AND MARK. These are two of the rudest most retched customer service people I've ever dealt with my entire life. Both seem to be angry they have to work and decide to take it out on customers while working for pokerstars. Mark specifically was incredibly rude in the customer chat, while I was being completely respectful and polite. Dealing with these two people specifically has made me strongly hate pokerstars and want to give them no business.

I highly recommend everyone checks out party poker when they launch. It's so much better than stars. The rake is much lower and the rewards are much higher. Their customer support members are friendly, and know how the site operates. They give out bonuses for playing on top of their regular rewards system. Stars continues to slash their rewards every single month.

If this is true I will be jumping ship. The amount of rake paid and the steady reduction of rewards and rakeback is nauseating. The current promo where you have to win a hand with different cards - they actually have the balls to "award" me $1 day after day. They would be better off as a company to just not have the promo rather than slap people in the face with an insulting $1 prize. Not to mention having to rake $500 or so to get a chest which gives you $30 - a whopping 6% rakeback! We definitely need some more rooms to open up and compete with each other.

Ragedollars were a popular subject on here a few years ago, they responded by changing the minimum prize to 20 cents. Careful what you complain about

Don't forget if you're a winning player your required chest points double.

That has already happened a while ago - 57000 points (around $600 in rake) to collect a chest for $30 - hooray! Just played all weekend at mostly NL50 and some NL100 - my individual rake bill is $665.68 - they are charging me $22 an hour to play poker there. I know it's not just a PokerStars thing as their rake is about the same as the rest of the industry - but that's absolutely sick and extremely difficult to overcome for non elite players. Think I am done unless they up their rewards/rakeback/bonusus or a different company comes along with better offerings.

Yes this new little challenge they have is a joke. When I complete it and open a chest for .20 cents it just looks incredibly cheap on them and would be better off not doing anything.

Also the chests themselves are stupid and I cant figure them out. I am at diamond right now and was at chest 5/10 and opened it on Thursday. Today I completed the next chest and it still registered at chest 5/10. I can't figure it out. Also like others mine doubled to 23,400.

Like I said earlier ITT

They don't want winning players (at least in cash games)

They are the reverse of old PokerStars pre BF

If I'm not mistaken, this is not all on them. I believe the license to just operate the site initially was $10mil and god knows what the taxes are. So it's entirely possible that the rake and rakeback sucking is simply not avoidable

Might also be the reason they're the only ones who've entered atm

We don't know what their finances are, they do. And it's also possible that they could be woefully incompetent in running a site in addition to the handling of all the complaints in here and elsewhere, and actually be making money hand over fist. This might be the reality and consumers are simply never going to get what they truly desire and/or believe they deserve

The only hope is competition to force change, or new law/regulation changes to do the same

Poker is def fun, I'm not gonna stop playing, but they really are taking an attitude that makes me not want to play there at all. I will have a keen interest on any new site that pops up

It's a rolling 28 day window

If you cleared a chest 28 days ago, then tomorrow that chest will disappear from your progress bar thingy (so it would go from 7/10 to 6/10, or if u cleared 2 chests that day, then 7/10 goes to 5/10, etc)

It makes it so you have to clear 10 chests in any given 28 days to move up a tier

The way they set it up, though, makes me feel like I'm moving up in tears

With the 28 day window, do we only need to clear one black chest every 28 days to maintain black chests or do we need to have 10 cleared in the past 28 days?

One

The progress bar shows you the expiration date in order to maintain a tier (I'm guessing it's always 28 days from the last date you cleared a bar)

Also, I think it lets you drop a tier if you haven't cleared a single chest by the time you're within ten days of the expiration date

I think it gives you the option to get two chests from the lower tier or something

If anyone doesn't get a chest right after clearing the cardex promo, might just be a glitch in the matrix. Just happened to me. I logged out and logged right back in and the chest showed up just fyi

My chest just increased from 26,300($263)to 44,750($447.50). My last chest sucked as well got like $40.

Think I might be quitting as the rake is high and the rewards are low. I can do better playing live.
