On an uninteresting side-note, I am going to be out of office from tomorrow returning June 1st, so I won't be able to answer any questions in a timely manner until then.

I hope the rest of NJSCOOP goes well for all of you.

Thanks Dylan. Assuming you're taking some off, hope you enjoy it!

When PokerStars agreed to acquire Full Tilt, one of the primary reasons was to make sure that Full Tilt players were made whole for their account balances and deposits which the previous owners had not re-paid. Our lump sum payment was more than enough to cover these balances. The agreement also made clear that PokerStars was not responsible for any of Full Tilt’s liabilities.

Despite not being our responsibility, we have sought to ensure Full Tilt players could maintain some advantages associated with their previously accumulated FTPs. In the coming months, eligible New Jersey Full Tilt account holders will be contacted via email with details of an upcoming promotion to reward previously accumulated Full Tilt Points. Unfortunately, at this time we are unable to offer a promotion to U.S. players (outside New Jersey) for previously accumulated FTPs.

PokerStars is working vigorously to promote regulated online gaming across the United States. As new regulated markets open in the U.S. we will do our best to offer a promotion to previous Full Tilt players. However, we can make no guarantees at this time that such a promotion will occur.

We appreciate your understanding in this matter.

Regarding the details for the promotion for eligible New Jersey players, I will try to get those details ASAP, but they likely won't be available until sometime in June.

Regards,
Dylan
I recently noticed that I had ~120k FTPs disappear (I assume this had to do with inactivity?). Is this promotion an opportunity to reclaim that? Between that and Stars I lost like $1000 in points due to not being out of the country for a certain amount of time...

What is this?

edit: kinda did a google search, still not 100%, but do you pay for optimum wifi? And you're referring to the web-site; www.optimum.net, right?

edit 2: Damn, you da man. My xfinity internet is always dropping and I just realized I get the xfinity hotspot from my house clear as day. Also read on the optimum web-site, "Optimum has partnered with Comcast to expand Optimum Hotspot access to Optimum Online and XFINITY Internet customers."

LETIGRA, thanks for the heads up on alienware. While I've heard of it, I always thought it was a a virus scanning program, lol. Gonna look into one.

Ha. It's the laptop all the dorks on "big bang theory" use. Also, I am a dork.

People will say their PC is faster/better/etc, but the reality is that it's like comparing a top of the line beamer with a great engine to a McLaren. They might have similar 0-60 numbers and the beamer might actually beat it, but at the end of the day you get what you pay for. That's how my computer whiz cousin described it to me. If you have any type of reasonable credit, you can get one for zero interest for 12 months at dell financial. It'll take 5 days to arrive(they have to build it) but you can just pay it off within a year no strings attached. I recommend the cheaper laptops. Every alienware is awesome; even the entry levels.

It's not that Alienware are "bad", they're just hugely overpriced for what they are. You're paying a huge premium for a brand.

I've always thought it was a bit of a production error having Sheldon use an Alienware, he's the exact type of person to rant about them rather than buy one!

Idk if it's a glitch or something but late reg ended like an hour into the 30$ nightly MTT 1k guarantee only like 17 of us registered, huge overlay lol

Did u guys hit the bubble early? Think I read earlier, late reg ends early when you get in the money or something to that affect.

Nope, only top 4 paid, ended up with 21 runners.

Ha! I agree with the production error!

Yeah I guess I pay for a brand but you only buy a laptop occasionally so I don't mind. Plus all the pretty lights on the keyboard and alienware is just badass lol! I know nothing about computers other than how to play poker on them so it works for me.

I am willing to drop 1k+ on a laptop that will last a long, long time.

The brand of PC would have no bearing on internet disconnecting unless it, for some crazy reason, just had absolute crappy network hardware built into it's motherboard. But I've literally never heard of or seen that in my life.

Alienware isn't worth the money, but if you know nothing about PCs and want to game, and are willing to pay a premium for it, get one. If it's about poker, though, don't waste your money on another one in the future. Just get an Asus or something.

(also most brands nowadays are capable of gaming, so there's that)

I may be the only one....but I feel the "late registration" time in tourneys is WAY too long...

2 hours on average is crazy...at least in any KO tourneys... just my 2 cents

Pros and cons to this for sure but if it helps inflate the guarantee and overall prizepool I think most will be ok with it.

The community overall needs to be open minded and patient as this market develops.

ehhh the market has been around long enough...i guess not enough players have complained about this....again... like i said i might be the minority on this...i dont recall any other online sites with a 2 hour late registration time...most are an hour...but its all good ....

If anything I think they end way too early. Especially in turbos and hypers.

Did the midnight hyper turbo tourney disappear from the lobby tonight or am I losing my mind?

+1 to wanting to see the leaderboard, clocked 2 SCOOPs today

It appears everything from like 0:00-9:00 disappeared. I can only imagine it has something to do with a software update since the SCOOP zoom event is on Wednesday and Stars has yet to deal a hand of zoom in NJ
05-23-2016 , 05:19 AM
For the NJ players, how are the games and player pools?
05-23-2016 , 06:54 AM
During the 50r 3max hyper, in each of my HU hands the BTN posted bb and oop was the SB. Is this some kind of joke? This is Pokerstars ffs. In practice, I will admit, it doesn't affect most players' EV very much. In principle, though, I think it is so significant a deviation from standard play that it borders on owing everyone a refund assuming this was unintentional and I haven't overlooked an announcement of special rules.

This has been explained before in the past and is the side effect of the way the actual code of pokerstars games is written. The software basically looks where the button is, then places the small blind and bb correctly to the left. This is also related to the forward moving button and why they don't use dead blinds.

You know how when you get heads up in a tourney you get the banner that says "we are now heads up"? That's basically some sort of switch, alerting the software to switch modes and deal for heads up, therefore placing the blinds in a non standard way, and differently than it usually does.

I believe this is not something that is very easy to switch back and forth between, and therefore is problematic in the short handed tourneys. This used to be an issue in 4 max tourneys on ft bubble, and is the reason why the ft is now just 5 handed instead.

Hopefully Dylan can tell us something else, but from what I understand from discussions in the past about this situation it's something very unlikely to be fixed

Ahh okay, hadn't run into that before. I think they should make this rule more clear or just avoid this type of tourney then...

yeah i mean, i agree that it's an issue...but in the past it's seemed liek the options have been not have the tourney or just have to deal witht he blinds being backwards sometimes.

imo, for a tourney like that it's just a fun hyper turbo anyway, i dnot' mind the blinds being a bit wonky.

if this was like a large buyin, slow structured tourney, then i think it would def be an issue...as it is in 4max, which they ahve now corrected
