A .bat file is the short extension name for a batch file which is a file type for running a series of commands automatically once you open it
So... On your Windows PC
[1] Click "
Start" button
[2] In the "
Run" box type "
Notepad" & press "
Enter" on your keyboard - this will open the Windows Notepad program
[3] type the below into notepad just as I've laid it out in two lines [or copy/paste]:
net stop audiosrv
net start audiosrv
[4] Click "
File" in the menu bar of notepad & then click "
Save" which opens an explorer window
[5] Navigate to anywhere on your PC where you'd like to save the file such as the desktop
[6] Name the file "
sounds.bat" [or any other name you like, BUT MAKE SURE IT ENDS WITH ".bat"]
[7] There will be a field below that the naming field probably where you can choose the "
Save as type" option - so choose the "
All files" option, otherwise it saves as a text file [you don't want that]
[8] Once you have completed these steps, click the "
Save" button & close notepad
[9] When the sound messes up just click on the ".bat" file you made [that's why it's handy to have it on the desktop] which will stop & restart your audio service
[10] After the ".bat" file runs it will close itself automatically
If you don't understand the above then ask a question or two here
