Anyone else getting "we are unable to confirm your current location" popup windows, forcing you to sitout?

I am hard wired on a PC, but have a wireless adapter showing several networks in my area. I'm in a populated area. First time since the site launched that I've seen this popup. I tried one reboot which did not fix it, and may resort to an uninstall and re-install of the client.

Just wondering if it's just me or a bigger issue. Thanks.

Hi all,
Been a long time since I've logged in here, hope everyone is logging big wins. I have a question for y'all regarding PokerStars MI. I've scanned quite a bit of this thread (admittedly not the entire thing though, as it's pretty long already), but haven't found an answer to what I'm looking for.

I primarily play PS on an iPad, and I have the Auto-Rebuy (or top-up, forget how it's worded) option on. What I'd like to see is a running total of what I've bought in for. I've also played on the desktop version and don't see it there either. Obviously this isn't a problem if you win the first hand you play and then never dip below your initial buy-in, but that's rarely the case. For example, on ACR, at the top of the window (on PC obviously) I can see what I'm in to the game for. The only way I can really track how much I've put on the table on PS is by logging my balance before the session and then checking it again at the end and figuring the difference. This isn't ideal, especially if you're multi-tabling. Does anyone know a way to find the running total of cash put on the table on the iPad version of the app?

Second question, technically unrelated to this thread.... I'm interested in getting a poker bankroll tracking app.... what do you guys use? To this point, I've done everything manually on a spreadsheet, but would like to get an app to track it all.

Wolfferine, I've been getting that message too for about the last month. I too am hard wired on my PC. I signed onto the site right from the beginning and it didn't start happening until recently. So far, a reboot and/or a reset of my router will clear it up for a while, but it is annoying. I honestly don't think it's us. I think it is the PS software somehow.

Thanks for confirming. It does suck when it happens. Stars security replied back with an explanation and refunded me the $20 for the tourney I was in. Here is their reply:

​Your device recently connected to a Wi-Fi signal from a state outside of Michigan.

The Wi-Fi access point you connected to may contain some incorrect registration data. The movement of the access point then results in the appearance that you're in a different state.

These types of issues can continue on and off for several weeks. Only resolving when the Wi-Fi database autocorrects itself.

What can I try to resolve this issue?

-Play from an area in your house where you can detect more Wi-Fi access points.
-If you changed your router recently, plug in the old router to the power outlet. You do not need to connect it to the internet, or your computer. -The old router only needs to broadcast its Wi-Fi access points.
-You can play from a mobile device with Wi-Fi disabled and Cellular and GPS enabled. We only recommend doing this on a temporary basis.


None of the suggested solutions from Stars fixed the issue.

I did a little digging and found these two posts in the Pokerstars PA thread where other players had this issue. The 2nd post has a link to a program you can run in the background called Geocomply. Since installing and running that program, I have been able to play with no geolocation issues.

Everyone get (or not get) their monthly challenge? I know it's different for all, but I've been $110 since the jump. Perhaps I cleared the last one quick, but it seems like it's been a while this time around and curious if I'm just not remembering the date for which the next one regenerates or if in fact I may have gotten nada?

For what it's worth, I haven't gotten mine either. In the past it's come pretty quickly once the previous one expired.

In the desktop client, I noticed a few weeks ago that the Sportsbook is no longer displaying. Anyone else have this going on? I didn't change any settings and its still available in the mobile app.

Double check your settings; sportsbook has been displaying for me with no issues.

Thanks, I tried that but still no luck. Now it’s missing from the mobile app too. Wish me luck with support. Guess I won too much on MSU and UM lol

Has anyone had luck playing from the airport? Also, are there even any games at 5-8AM on a Saturday?! I'll play anything from 0.25/0.50-2/5 NL or PLO.

Games are normally pretty dead that early in the morning. Note: I only play up to 50nl.

Haven't tried playing in an airport, but I'd be leery of airport wifi.

Has anyone been able to produce their W2-G? Mine results in an email with some type of error that I have no data or something, which can't be right? I chatted with Support and they said I may not get one if I didn't have any single large wins and offered a win/loss report of some sort via email. This should work fine for taxes, I suppose, just figured that there would be something more official.

Obviously plenty of time for tax purposes, just a little anxious on this first one now that poker is back.
