I would guess that they can't fix it without assistance from the user. Probably some flaw in the code that triggers before the 'hey, should we update the client?' check is performed...

In that tournament the Staff from Pokerstars said restart is taking longer then they hoped. Hope it will be done in next ten minutes, SNG will be available then as well
