just got a message from stars proving my assumption. In a 3-handed 2x SPIN everyone gets less than a buy-in (assuming equal stacks)

Hello again,

Normal service has been restored, and tournaments that were running at the time dealing stopped have been rolled forward. Spin & Gos were rolled forward using whichever multiplier was drawn for that specific tournament.

For all tournaments, the rake paid by the players still in the tournament was also included in the amounts the players received.

Tournaments that were scheduled to start during the downtime have also been cancelled, and the buyin + rake has been returned to the players registered.

We would like to apologize for the inconvenience caused by these problems.

Thanks,
Baard

It's pretty irritating that I can still register to cancelled tourneys. Just remove them from the lobby please!

I install the PokerStars.uk Software.

It then tells me my account can only be used on the PokerStars.com gaming client and asks me to upgrade.

So I ugrade to PokerStars.com, then it says "Update Failed. Your connection to PokerStars update server has failed. Error -3/0." then something about it potentially being a network error.

One thing I know is that it's not a hardware/directory issue. It says the same thing on a number of different machines, whenever I try and log in to my account.

Can anyone assist please??

Where are you based? I have the same issue - I need to use .EU software but currently in a .COM area - so I think its like the website redirect and just fails upon an update.

I solved it by:

1) Go directly to .com and DL from there, and save as PokerStarsCom (or whatever name) folder on your PC - https://www.pokerstars.com/client/download/
2) Go directly to .uk and DL from there, and save as PokerStarsUK (or whatever name) folder on your PC -- https://www.pokerstars.uk/PokerStarsInstallUK.exe
3) So both should be downloaded, installed in separate folders
4) When you want to access PokerStars, click on the correct folder and run the Pokerstars.exe application direct from the folder, (dont use the desktop icon)
5) If there is now an update it should work correctly now too

There could be a better way, but this worked for me

I assume Stars is aware of this too

Okay, I tried this.

Regardless of which client I access, I get the following message.

"Your account can only be used on the Pokerstars.com gaming client. This is the Pokerstars.uk client. To use this account, please upgrade your software to the Pokerstars.com version and log in from there" (even though I downloaded from both links provided, essentially different clients)

So I click "Upgrade to Pokerstars.Com" and then the same message appears.

I'm a loss!?

I am based in England!

Pokerstars.com redirects me to Pokerstars.uk automatically - I can't get on pokerstars.com to install their client?

The same with Pokerstars.eu

I tried something else. I acceessed pokerstars.com via a proxy, downloaded the client, but then I get the following message.

"A newer version is available and needs to be downloaded, this will be done in two stages"

So I clicked OK, etc. I finally got access to the client. I logged in using my normal username and password.

Now it looks like it's purely a Play Money client. There's no option to deposit, there's no option to play any real money games.

???

I tried something ELSE.

I followed a link from an email Pokerstars had sent me, asking me to deposit. It took me to pokerstars.com and I downloaded the client again, and deleted the client I had just installed. The one I deleted, was a Pokerstars.NET client, and this was just a "Pokerstars" client.

So I installed it, and then I got this message.

So I said OK, upgrade...to which I get the very same message as my original post!

I am baffled?

Yes, I have a UK address registered to my account and always have had.

What date? What date what? I have had this account for years, probably 6 or 7. I was playing regularly up until about a year ago, then tried to play again and got these errors.
