I understand that - I just mean reward the winners when they are losing.

Last year I played zoom and made $800 working my way up from 10nl to 16nl and finally $25nl. I promptly lost $500 though both running badly and playing like a fool. And still the chest points required got larger and larger - so I stopped playing on stars for about 8 months. I also noticed that I had raked over $800 in this time.

After a few months of not playing, I was offered a single free reward of $10. I still didn’t play.

If my chest points had become more achievable as I started to lose against a tougher field, rather than increasing, I would have been playing on stars for the last 8 months.

I’m not suggesting that the overall winners receive as much rakeback as losing players. That model has clearly passed by. However, rather than add insult to injury as I bled money from my account, PS could have made my chest goals easier rather than harder.

I’m not saying I deserve easy money/easy chests - just that it would have kept me playing. I’m sure a lot of people feel the same when they encounter losses.

Finally took the decision to leave Stars after a few years of playing there. There's better options out there.

Well it took me over a week to grind it out...and I got $1 in cash.

I got the same thing and I hadn't logged in to Stars in months. I can't see how this is a better deal.

I thought if you stopped playing on Stars they reset your points totals.

From their website:

Win at least one Chest in every rolling 28-day period to remain on your current Chest level.
Win 10 Chests within 28 days and we’ll upgrade you to a bigger Chest, which will require more points to unlock but will contain bigger rewards on average (see above). Your progress bar will turn blue when you’re approaching an upgrade, and we’ll let you know exactly how long you have left to earn it.
If 28 days pass and you have not won a Chest, your progress bar will reset and you’ll be moved down a level, where Chests will be easier to win but will contain a lower value of rewards on average. If you have completed at least 50% of your current progress bar, you’ll receive a Chest from your new, lower level. If you are on the Blue Chest level and do not win a Chest within 28 days, you will remain on that level. Progress bars on the Blue Chest level will reset after three calendar months of inactivity.

Pretty confusing but i'm pretty sure if you don't finish one of your chests' progress it gets reset and they rob you of your rakeback.

For example you get one bronze chest (5950 points) but only make it to 40% on the next one before the month is over, your progress will be reset and you get nothing for the 40% progress you have made.

Also: they're rewarding spin and go tickets now. They will most likely completely replace the small cash rebates.

On the lowest level (blue) you should at least generate 0.01 points every 3 months to keep the progress bar.
Example: By the end of March the expiration date of my progress bar was 1st of July; after I played a few hands in April the expiration date went up to 1st of August.

I play the lowest micros and normally make about 60 points per day. So it will only take about 40 days for me to get my first new chest. I wonder what i should do with my 2% rakeback I will get in a month or two xD

i also left stars for good, i think they are only good for MTTs basically, allthough others are not that far behind. Its just disrespectfull the rewards system, opening those chests is tilting honestly FU, there are good options outthere with 40% rakeback and decent traffic, the difference in rakeback is huge for all cash players its just not worth staying there anymore as much as we all love the software and player pool. Spread out, play on several sites and there will always be enough games to play.

started playing on stars from zero and payed about 28$ (attributed) in rake from 1,3k hands of break-even PLO25. cleared 8 blue chests so far which contained 5 spins that awarded me with 0,10$ total.....great. i also got a freeroll ticket i will never use and a few 0.50$ NLHE spins...i dont even play Hold'em. i dont feel "rewarded" at all. i think its just a really frustrating experience every time you open chests. and all that fuss and animation when you open a chest to find it (almost) empty is ironically mocking

I am at diamond chest and the first 4 were at 15,000 points, the fifth jumped to 120,000 points to clear. What a disappointment! Poker stars reward program it's a shame and a disgrace, unfortunately, in my country, I can't play anywhere else as Party Poker does not have a license(Romania) . Miss the old reward program and I hope it will return some day...would be the best move Amaya can possibly make for poker!

I got 17 black chests at 35k points but my 18th chest jumped to 335k points.

seems like stars noticed they made a mistake and were giving too fair of rewards or something, my diamond chests went from 15k to 120k today and someone else in discords diamonds went from 25k each to 320k each

I also had 7 diamond chests at 15k each and now jumped to 120k.
So not even a 1% RB as I play mostly mtts and sngs and get half points for every dollar I rake.

Had the last diamond chests for 11k and like 7 black chests for 25k and yesterday it did change to 335K.

The black chests for 25k were a little bit too good. But 75k for a blackchest would be more reasonable. 335K is obviously silly.

I've noticed that while my bronze chest requirement of 650 points hasn't increased, the number of bonus points in a chest as decreased from 150+ in the first few chests, to nothing at all now!

So I was only having to rake 500 for $0.50, but now it's the full 650.
