got $250 in the 3rd diamond chest I opened (15k pts to unlock)

Previous system highest I ever got I think was 35k stars coins + $20 cash

Potentially stars actually made things a bit better with this update - along with the specially selected rakeback challenges quite a few people are getting maybe 2019 will be the year amaya fixes a few things in favour of the player.

Same for me. 14750 for a silver. Haven't opened it yet.

2500 for blue, after 550 for the last red, but that's likely because I was 15-20-tabling when I earned the latter

Really thought Stars saw the error of their ways and were going to change to something better, lol.
Emailed support twice to complain and got the exact same c/p response both times.(ie why am I going from a few hundred points to open a chest to 14750?)
"I am Dim" made me chuckle though

Thank you for contacting us. I am Dim and I hope you are doing well

Following our players' feedback, xxxxx, we've changed our Stars Rewards program a little bit to increase the value of all Chests by roughly three times. You now need more reward points to earn a Chest, but the reward will be worth it!

You only need to earn one Chest over a rolling 28-day period to keep your Chest level. If not, you'll move one Chest level down, to an easier reward point target. To move up to the next level, simply earn ten Chests over a rolling 28-day period.

If you have any other questions, do not hesitate to contact us.

I am wishing you a nice day!

Regards,
Dim

From my point of view the answer should look like this:
"Following our players' feedback, xxxxx, we've changed our Stars Rewards program a little bit to DECREASE the value of all Chests by roughly three times. You now need more reward points to earn a Chest, but the reward will NOT be worth it!"

We collected much of the information we needed right here in this thread, and were hoping to do so once again.

To help us calculate the average rakeback players can expect, we would very much appreciate it if you could post the following information on any chests you open:
  1. Chest color
  2. Points required
  3. Bonus points towards next chest

With this information, we'll be able to once again provide a detailed analysis of the Stars Rewards program, and lift the veil on the hidden numbers!

Thanks in advance for any info you provide!
Hi Maria. I'd like to support the TPV team because the last article about effective rakeback value was very in-depth and useful. And now PokerStars has eliminated the boosts it will be easier to calculate the rakeback. I'm running for a bronze chest at the moment with a value of 5950 points. From the info about chest values and probabilities provided on the PokerStars website I calculated myself already that bronze chests have an average rakeback value of $1.20 which gives me a rakeback of 2.02%. Good luck with the article!

I'm almost certain Stars support now go out of their way to purposely wind people up with their responses. The things they say, even putting smiley faces in emails wtf?

I had problems with support recently too. And they're so unprofessional. It's like dealing with ****ing children, they're pathetic.

They did. They'll put up with you being a winning player, but they're not going to reward you for it. They're basically saying, like it or piss off.

The days of poker sites wanting winning regs grinding are long gone.

It seems like they adjusted the ratios of $ to stars coins which seems decent, more money less coins - I have opened 5 chests with no coins seen so far.

Only thing I wonder if it will affect is the deal / if they will start phasing out the rewards store? (or we are both just experiencing variance and its still the same :shrug

It makes me wonder why Stars doesn't reward people based on how much they lose or win over a short time - say a week or a month. When I have a losing session, which may be 8 buyins at zoom in a couple of hours, I normally take a week off to recharge and get over my losses. When I'm winning, I keep playing.

If I was rewarded more with rakeback/chests when I was on a losing streak, it may encourage me to get back in the game more quickly.

As fish would lose nearly all of the time, so keep feeding them with more rakeback but help the winners even out their variance a bit and keep them playing and generating rake. Basically, keep everyone playing. It's a line from De Niro in Casino, 'Keep them playing'. That's surely what every poker site/casino wants, right?

I've just had this thought off the top of my head, so it could well be a crap idea but thought I'd offer it up.

I heard losing players/net depositors do get nice bonuses all the time. 40% in rakeback on top of chests, I believe. Not a small amounts as well.

This is basically what they do already, if you lose a lot you will get better chest rewards + lower pt requirements. If you win a lot you will have very high point requirments and hit the higher tier rewards on your level of chest less often.

Stars also throws fun players and net depositors a lot of extra bonus challenges
