edit:

2nd edit:

**** it added a TLDR just read top right ignore the rainbow all over the excel sheet will keep it updated for probably first month out of my own curiosity, maybe someone else will find it interesting

Very interesting to see your payouts TreadLightly - also funnier and more organized than mine

Those freeroll tickets look like a lump of coal - so much work to convert to their $0.33 worth, or however much they wind up being worth

4 chests of the same colour on the same calendar day (as per Eastern Time).

I have to clear 2350 points for a Bronze Chest.

According to the formula in this thread that = 4.9% RB - why is this so low? I'm a winning player and have only deposited once in my life but I don't play for a living and average around 40 hours a month.

I play Spins - maybe they give those players less rb?

that is the main thing amaya hates, they want you playing spins but if you are making money they are very against rewarding that style of play

It's crazy though I'm by no means a crusher... my EV hourly is around $10. If I'm on 4.8% RB I can't imagine what the guys that are killing spins are on... maybe negative RB?

I'm a semi reg who plays Spins after work from a fish country (Canada), I'm not your 10 tabling soul crushing pt4 analying GTO machine eastern euro guy playing so he can feed his 6 kids, wife, and mistress...

So Stars creates a new 'reward' system that is so opaque that it spawns a thread of almost 1500 posts mostly dedicated to figuring it out.

Remember when stars got rid of fpps in favour of stars coins with the reasoning that "It's much easier for people to understand"....

The problem lies within the way they communicate which is not honest.

I think that the starcoins change was a good one, because things in fact got easier. The problem is that they use that change to lower rakeback.

The same goes now for the chests. I think this could had been a good change for everyone. Recreationals love the gamble and I think regulars won't matter much as long as the EV was similar. The problem again is that they use this change to mask new cuts on rakeback... and this time they were massive.

PokerStars have said that "The current monthly volume-driven rakeback model will be retired and will be replaced with one that rewards a variety of factors, such as volume, stakes, how often players play, and net deposits."

Yes, 100% Zoom. I've tested it again and sure enough, the moment you sit out the big blind and shut down your tables the progress bar moves.

Imo this bug is done on purpose to make people play longer to get their chest. "Oh look, it's nearly full, I'll just keep going a little longer" when in reality, they already have the chest, it's just that pokerstars are holding it back from them.

I really don`t understand how this chest system works.
I know that we need 4 chests/day to upgrade to a better one but how many needed to remain at the same chest color?
I played last 3 days and completed 2 or 3 chest on Sunday, 1 yesterday and 1 today but just got downgraded for the 2nd time now(1st downgraded to Gold on Sunday and today to Silver)
So how this works?

'Net deposit' is a euphemism for a loss. I think a deposit doesn't count until that money is wagered and lost. So there are few 2p2ers who can test the effect of 'net deposits' on their rewards.

I also think this is correct otherwise winning players could just deposit to get better rewards and then withdraw in the end of the month. By "net deposits" they surely mean losing players who deposit more than they withdraw.

You've been downgraded today because your last 3 complete chests were earned on 3 different Eastern Time days (today, yesterday and Sunday). In order not to be downgraded, you need to earn at least 2 chests every day.

The lower chest the higher rakeback percentage

It always happened to me with my StarsCoin progress bar too. Always assumed it's just built in to make you play longer.

This. Also the system seems to react to short term results. I have not deposited in over two years but at the same time this system started I began a massive downswing and within a couple of days my cost per chest and boost amounts improved to give me a better rb%. Over the last couple of days I have hopefully finally turned the corner I am wondering how many winning days I have to string together before they start punishing me for it?

This is by far the most annoying part of this thing. I keep getting bumped up and down. My normal daily volume seems to be about 1.5 of the requirement of the higher chest, if I open two chests I am ok but if I only open one the next day I get bumped down the following day. This is starting to really piss me off. Especially when you start the day with a higher chest from the day before, complete it, get reduced down and you have already put in enough volume that day to open 2 of the lower level chests but you then have to open 4 more of the small chests that day to get upgraded again. So in affect you have to earn the equivalent of 6 or more lower chests for the upgrade.

The early information they released, I wish I could find it again, was that downgrades would happen after four days of reduced play but in reality it's one chest in a day and you get ****ed the next day.

my starcoin balance does not grow anymore. just playing a 50coin game per day makes my balance go down.

remember getting like 8-12$ a day in rakeback. ~80cent right now. yeah.

There is no real difference if you are upgraded or downgraded or using or not using the boosts. There is literally no more rakeback. They removed it altogether, as a concept.

I wish they could be more upfront about it tho, like just come out and say "Welp, it seems like our business cannot sustain itself because of the rakeback we are paying, we have to cut it down almost to zero so we can pay our debts (and fill our pockets)".

This whole chest charade is an insult to injury, they are literally telling us "Hey, we took away rakeback but we are also throwing those silly chests at you because we think that our playerbase is so mentally challenged they are going to swallow it and appreciate it."
