I have to generate 675 points for a bluechest - is this good or bad?

So for the $10M promotion, will there be 10k of $1k added prizes to be given out in the chests? Could someone check about this? This could be the saving grace for the players if it's as good as it looks.

Did anyone here play without clicking the start button for the chests? I did not click on the start button earlier. Does that mean i earned nothing earlier because of this?


Also does that mean there will be no starcoins earned allowed anymore? Thus just cash them out for the vip cash rebate as theres no point of it?

StarsCoins are now awarded by chests. See jdawg91's report - he's been getting a mix of SCs, cash and T$. Actually, if the total prize value is less than $1, then it's awarded totally in the form of SCs (plus points towards the next chest). E.g. my two chests contained 8 and 12 SCs.

You don't need to cash your SCs out right now (though it doesn't hurt) - the same VIP store is available as before, just it has moved to the My Stars tab on the right.

If SNE RB had been 45% in 2015, the regs wouldn't have been playing so many tables and would have had slightly higher ROIs.

Likewise, in the current situation, some of the regs will adjust by cutting their table counts even further, to be more focused.

Not really. TCOOP 2016 I remember continuous 15-24 tabling mostly 6reg $240/$360/$720 hyper sats with us regs battling for the lobby. I ofc won that battle (actually in all seriousness, I'm the only reg from those games that still plays a lot)

Doesn't really matter anyway, most people are now going to be losing players or b/e at best at a lot of the formats IMO. Thats just my $0.02, I'm not really that aware of what is going on in non hyper turbos these days and I don't really care to get into a discussion. I just get on, put my work in, and get out. Focus on myself and the things I can control

This probably means that they've loaded thousands of their customers' next chests with $1K prizes and will be gradually loading more chests with them as more and more people open their first chests.

Those poker formats that have become relatively unexciting to recreationals with the appearance of Spin & Gos etc. will die out because of natural selection, if not right now, then later when new formats like Power Up are rolled out for real money.

Started the year as SN, haven't deposited in over 5 years. Needed 1850pts for first chest. Somehow completed with $12 rake payed (according to HEM) got 189 stars coins and 200 pts towards the next bonus. Works out to be about 15% rakeback down from 28%.

Thinking more of this, the main reason why they'll stop running is that regs won't manage to reach an agreement and set up a Sharkystrator queue properly so that, say, in 6-man hypersats, exactly 3 regs sit and the rest of the queue waits until the next SNG is deployed, unless a sicko wants to sit those 3 to their detriment just to get in more volume (but there are very few sickos who can afford this). The current version of the software rules allows this because, unlike in the Spinwiz case, the lobby isn't blind. Then the regs will be playing less volume but maintaining healthy ROIs. Though, of course, Stars can find an excuse to amend the rules ones again.

They're giving away "a number" of $1,000 prizes until they've given out $10mil in total rakeback. They're not adding $10mil.

Wow, they definitely make it look like they are giving away $10M distributed in $1000 prizes, but worded it in such a way that they can't get caught out for it. Pretty deceitful of them.

That's still $1M worth of added prizes which seems pretty good, but they should have made that more clear rather than using carefully crafted marketing statements to make it look like they're giving away 10x as much.

so they are bending us over for a number that has to be much much higher than 10m with massive rakeback cuts for everybody (recs included) and we are supposed to be happy they are adding some $1k prizes into their new forced lotto card program? yay

Tried the rewards.It wasn't FUN like they advertise it.Even recs were furious with the new program.
I opened 4 chests-~130 $ rake needed for them-I got a total 6.16$ in starscoins and cash.
4.7% just as advertised.
I couldn't believe it.Still can't but I guess this is the future.

Ok cool I get the same as you, and PokerStars have actually revised these numbers upwards. They have done in Denmark too, so this looks like a global change. Value of Chests has gone up across the board - 2c on Red, 6c blue, 12c bronze, 25c silver, 50c Gold and $1 platinum.

They have also made them a lot less top heavy. The top prizes has been reduced in 3 of the 6. The lowest prize only pays out 22% of the time; before it was 33%.

That's not the kind of change that's going to get Supernovas back on board, but still good to see PokerStars revising things both in dollar value and variance since launch.

A chest you have already won, won't be upgraded. The target chest will be upgraded when you open 4 same chest in a day.
