Ya man good point, I forgot about that. So right now at Gold, if I was to drop down I should probably not go below Silver. But then again, like I was thinking, I'm not sure if this current promotion is worth pursuing. It sounds like it give you the hope for big potential rewards, but in actuality will give you small returns.

But then again, the rake % is 18.5 at gold and 17.5 at silver, so if I was to only drop one chest level, that is not too big of a difference. And maybe it is a good way for me to test my curiousity for future occurences when they have promotions based on how many chests you can open in one month.

If you are willing to stay at whatever your current level is, the rakeback is actually slightly higher than what the website says.

For example: Clear 7 gold chests @ $108 each, then immediately exchange when you level up. You get another gold basically free. $160 rakeback for $756 rake, or about 21.1%.
Also, that "free" gold chest counts as the first one starting at the bottom of gold. You only need 6 more to level up. If you exchange again immediately after clearing #7, then you get $140 rakeback for $648 rake or about 21.6%

I've done this a couple of times because I know I will never clear 10 diamond chests in a month to get to black without moving way up in stakes or doing crazy volume (for me).

so I just finished my last Silver chest which bumped me to gold. I exchanged the gold as soon as I got there which got my two silvers. Only one chest counted towards the challenges and I 'popped' one Ball - didn't even count as getting a piece of one of the coloured balls. Will obvs keep playing but promo seems kinda weak at first glance.

Their main messaging when changing chests and inc rb was "more transparency" but other than chests containing a definitive amount of $ (although it differs each time how you get that $) the whole thing seems even more cryptic than ever!

Yes mine is the 28th. Last months was Nov 30th if I remember correctly. Its weird they would short change us a couple of days like that.

I dropped down from gold to blue chest level today, just to be able to see how things work out with the Bauble promotion. Even if it ends up costing me money, it won't be alot but it will at least satisfy my curiousty of whether this strategy is worth it given the promotion. I can easily work my way up back up to gold within a few days/weeks.

One thing I have noticed is that for December I am not prioritizing volume and trying to clear the monthly bonus. It has allowed my to play more concentrated and focused poker. It's alot more enjoyable.

Given that only your first chest a day counts, I'm thinking you're probably best just dropping down to whichever chest allows you to do one a day.

I also spoke to live chat yesterday, they confirmed that if you have a Monthly Poker Challenge half-way complete (say you've got 500 of 1000 points done) and you drop down to blue, where there's no challenges, you'll keep that progress when you do get back up to a level where you unlock the challenges. Although not sure how it works if you drop down from say Gold (with a 1500pt challenge) to Silver (where the challenges are much less points per chest).

last month I got challenges to get $80 for clearing `1000 points, this month only $20 for 1000 points. I'm fairly new to Stars, anybody know why I got less this month??

What are you trying to say? It's not a fake promotion fwiw. It's UP TO 40% not 40%. If you get 10% then you must be winning big. Allso you can't play stars in the us only the few local pools.

you dont have to win big. the biggest part of very small winners get 10% too
basically it is up to 40%rb, but only if you are a massive loser or somehow extremely extremely lucky

So far with the Bauble promotion it hasn't been impressive. I've gotten one chest from it that awarded me 200 coins, then the rest has been tickets for the draw on the 27th. The cool thing about the promotion is that it is easy to complete as long as you are at the right chest level (blue for me). I guess we won't know until month end whether the promotion is worth any effort, based on breaking the larger colored Baubles as well as the draw.

Do you know if the baubles are the same value whatever chest colour you are? Thinking of dropping down again so I can just reg up a couple spins on the days I'm not playing t try and get em all.

Dropping to lower chests for this promotion is massively -ev. To begin with 50% of the balls gives you tickets to the lottery and you end pay way more rake grinding your way back up to better chests. This promo is like some amaya level sheet.

Edit to my last post, I've dropped from Gold to Bronze, and not Blue.

I don't think its a huge wasted of time to grind back up from Gold to Bronze. I can get almost two Bronze chest per day which puts me at gold in just a few days. From Silver it would only be a couple more days to get back to Gold. Also, the RB% at Bronze is 16% where Gold is 18.5. Yes that is a 2.5% difference, but I guess that's what I'm trying to test out and see, whether that 2.5% RB difference can be made up through the Baubble promotion.

I won't know for sure whether the Bauble promo and dropping down two chest levels is a waste of time unti the end of the promo, since it looks like a big part of it will be the draw. Also, the larger Baubles with bigger prizes don't get opened until later on in the month as well.

Ah ok that is interesting. Thanks for providing that. I can get around 2,000 chest points per day, which is why I've been doing Bronze, so I can go through the progress bar at least once per day. But it looks like if I am nearing opening one of those larger Baubles, I should try for Silver. I did get that Blue Bauble for the 200 coins. I'll try to get the Green Bauble on Silver or Gold chests.
