I have a strange situation with Pokerstars... any advice? I have a strange situation with Pokerstars... any advice?

Hi guys. I've been on Pokerstars since 2003 or 04 i think... Its been a long time and I've stuck with them thru all the ups and downs. Always been pretty satisfied with their service although its been tough the past few years with all the changes.

Ten days ago after the latest update, I started having problems with hand histories and the replayer. My hands are not showing up in the hands tab in the chat box most of the time. I sit down for a session, and maybe 100, maybe 200 hands after my first hand is played it will start showing some of the hands. Its supposed to add each hand as they finish, but I dont think I'm seeing (just guessing) 80-90% of the hands I play. Also, the replayer seems to be mixing up the hands that it does show between the tables I am playing.

I reported all of this to support both in chat and by email. Performed a clean install and provided screen shots and log files as they requested. After going back and forth with them for a week, they have not even acknowledged my problem exists. All I keep getting from them is "thank you for your patience, our specialists are looking into the situation."

I expressed my concern to them about the issue creating an uneven playing field against my opponents. I feel that having hand histories available in real time is very helpful with making in-game adjustments (Especially in plo zoom where there are tons of unknown new players in the pool every time I log in). Being able to see the quality of hands opponents are playing preflop immediately after the hand is done is a great help IMO. I'm sure many players dont use it that much BUT that is their decision not to use the tools that PS provides. The reply from PS to this concern was that they can email me the histories. That doesnt work in real time and is completely dumb. It shows that whoever sent that reply doesnt play poker or understand the value of the info...

On a separate note, I also told support that I want to chase the monthly challenge (mine is 15000 pts for $600) but that I am uncomfortable playing at my normal stakes and putting in a lot of volume without hand histories working properly. I asked if they would adjust my challenge or prorate it for the time that the histories are not working. I am NOT looking for a freebie or additional compensation, I just want to have the tools that my opponents have while I chase the challenge. They told me no promises, but to check back after the challenge is over as there is nothing they can do while it is running. I find this response acceptable for now, we'll see after the challenge is over.

I played for about a week with this situation, running a little bad, maybe playing bad also being a little bothered by PS not fixing, much less even acknowledging my issue. A couple of days ago I decided to stop playing until the issue is fixed. Looking thru 2+2, it doesnt seem others are having similar issues so I am assuming it is only me or a small amount of players. I emailed PS and told them I really feel strongly about not being on an even playing field and that I thought they should give it priority as the issue affects game fairness and integrity. I also told them would not be playing until the issue is fixed and I would appreciate an email to notify me. They sent another generic reply "our specialists are looking into it" and also a long section about the shuffle and how the randomizer works for game integrity. Obviously whoever sent that email to me has no clue and did not even read my past emails and chats.

I'm pretty pissed that support doesnt seem to give a crap about my issue. I think my point to them about game fairness and integrity is valid. Am I overreacting? Your opinions would be appreciated... please be nice it you think I'm wrong... haha

Naah you are not wrong. The client has gone downhill for some time now and the support is allmost a joke these days. They focus so much to players being able to throw poop the software itself is not a priority anymore.

If you can just stop playing there and don't think about it anymore. Maybe in the near future things will change. Atleast the challenge system.
