Fast forward some time, I have taken a huge hiatus away from gambling, and my life has changed in several ways (kids grown up, lack of financial responsibility, better job, better poker player etc.) I tried to reopen several older accounts but they have all told me because I am not allowed to play on a "sister site" I can no longer play there....pretty much every site I want to play on seems to under control of the same company, Paddy power say I can't play there because my account at Sky is locked, Sky say I can't play there because my account at Poker stars is locked, Betfair say I can't play there because my account at Paddy Power is locked, Pokerstars refuse to comment but flat out lie and tell me having a locked account there does not restrict me playing anywhere else.
What has happened?
The UK gambling comission has recently passed so many laws to prevent people being able to play poker, I play on two crap sites just now and I am limited to being able to deposit £100 a month on the sites. I want to be playing pokerstars (they have the market) and I especially want to be playing online satellites for live events which currently I'm forced to pay full price for.... (this has included several Pokerstars run events aswell so they clearly have no qualms taking my rake live).
Can someone from Pokerstars please help put an end to this nonsense, enough is enough, enough time has passed, the UKGC will see to it that I can't exactly lose much money anyway, so it is pointless to uphold this lock on my account when gambling in UK is infinitely more safer for problem gamblers than it ever was, and I definitely no longer consider myself in that bracket having not done any wreckless online gambling for over 10 years now...
As you point out with current legislation in your country no company wants someone that will have a lawsuit against them if they lose. Pokerstars is not lying to you; a locked account on Polerstars does not legally require other sites to restrict you, but does create the legal threat they knew and let you play.
