I don't understand anything about this, unless they think that throwables for recs is the most important aspect of their platform

Been blinding down everywhere for an hour and the software is completely unresponsive no matter how many times I restart it, any chance I can get a refund? It was exactly the same before the forced aurora upgrade and I've been using it flawlessly without aurora until they forced it again. I only had 2 tables.

One table of cash game on new engine and X4 955 CPU is at 45-50%. Do developers get paid at pokerstars or is someone hobby coding this?

Is there no way to disable the KO Theme?

@Random tweet

Please just reconsider removing the option to disable Aurora. Everywhere is flooded with people complaining about Aurora isn’t it time pokerstars listened to the players for once?

Hello A..., Aurora is now the default graphics engine for our software, the old table technology is being retired and we have removed the option to turn off Aurora. We take all feedback into consideration for our next update. Regards^KK

Have to admidt that it's pretty funny. The one thing stars had going, after all the horrible changes and **** ups, was that their software was more or less undisputedly the best. Then they decided to nuke it so we could throw tissue boxes at each other.

I mean they gotta realize at some point that this is not an appearance but a performance problem for most people who complain.

This. I prefer the look of Aurora actually, but it's really laggy and unresponsive even with a top-end gaming rig.

PS have no rakeback for players but I don't give a fk. Because they have the best multi-table software of the world. After complaint to their customer service, I'm gonna withdraw all my money until they bring back the option to disable the ***** Aurora.

Not really. Many people complained about the size of many elements, especially fonts. They are very hard to read.
I have been using Carbon theme since it is less demanding and you pretty much need a magnifying glass. Also, many elements are non intuitive such as chips graphic symbol being the same for bet, raise etc. You really need to pay attention to those tiny digits.

To disable Aurora on a Mac.

Disk->Users->YourUserName->Library->Caches. You need a 3rd party File manager to access this (path finder from https://cocoatech.com is a good option)
Delete three folders with pokerstars name on them.

Start the pokerstars client. You will be given back the option to disable aurora graphics under table appearance->Table Graphics.

You will be asked to restart the client. Restart. Close the pokerstars client. Delete the three folders again as before. Start Pokerstars client.

Enjoy Old Pokerstars.

If you close the client you will have to delete the three folders again before restarting the client; OR you can leave the client opened all the time.

You dont need a 3rd party file manager. You just need to enable hidden folders in Finder. Shortcut is Command+Shift+dot

Also you dont need to delete 3 folders, you just need to delete "Images" folder in Pokerstars folder.

I run on Windows. Aurora is creating issues, Saturday first Aurora day, a crash with several tables open and one of the challenges come up at the 6am timeframe (unannounced) . Graphics/CPU could not deal with it

Other issues, every time you run a hand in replayer you can't see the notes.
And I use to go in notes of a player and copy the nickname for sharkscope. Now it's a picklist and can't copy them. Annoying (very).

Beyond CPU usage issues, can these software issues be tackled ?
I prefer to play back in the old format for sure.

What I use for Stars is a pretty decent laptop with previous generation but still fast enough i7 quad, 16GB of ram, decent AMD video card, two HD not high res. monitors, fast SSD and a stable windows 10 64bit environment. So running a poker client really shouldn't be an issue. I play mostly Zoom and tourneys and am using no HUDs and no helpers of any kind on Stars.

I have to manually kill and restart my client almost every time I open more than one Zoom table, so basically I sit out first hand if I open four. After restart I better not click anything other than tables which includes a hand replayer so to keep the client going. Otherwise I will eventually have tables freeze on me again.

All other poker clients I use, which pretty much includes everything mainstream can easily run 8 plus tables, including Zoom variants and HUD, if I so choose without any slowdowns or problems of any kind.

So yeah, I would say Aurora is the problem not average Joe's computer.

was playing 3 zoom tables on a 64gb RAM, 8-Core ryzen3700x, 64Bit 2gb graphics card, superfast ssd computer but was experiencing lags with mercury theme on Aurora low settings and had to switch to carbon theme...

I have a 6 year old i5 processor, 8 gb ram and an integrated gpu and it works fine. I'm playing 2 zoom tables and 2-3 mtts. My only issue is that I cannot use hypersimple anymore

I have laptop cost 800 usd from 6 months ago, i7 10 gen, 8gb ram, SSD, only works fine with 1 table, if open 4 tables, become slow, cant open chrome or spotify and overheat terrible. So i think we cant multitable on laptops anymore, have the risk to overheat and suffer damage my 800 usd laptop just to play 4 tables of micros? before aurora all was fine i used to play 4 tables + navigate chorme + podcast at spotify at the same time

Yes, it works but you have to rearrange the position for each player because the table looks different. It's also super slow. Just go back to the old one.

Can it be possible that PS is using our hardware with the new software for some crypto mining? haha
It doesn't make any sense that their new software to be so resource intense. This is 2D poker. It's simple, no complex geometry.

tbf my client is capped at 400MB and 4% cpu, but it feels slow and choppy compared to the old one with all animations turned off

what you mean by "just ho back to old one" ? Is it possible to go back to old version? Because i dont like the new one at all, small font, ugly cards and laggy...
I hobe they dont use it for crypto mining I guess they just have the worst coders ever and sotfware is made very poorly,...
