American Water Works Company, Inc. (AWK) might be a good one. Though wastewater and industrial is a very small % of their business right now.

I bought a little Cannex Capital CNXXF. Canadian company that leases properties, does consulting and sells supplies to US and Canadian cannabis producers.

Re: Wanna get high? ... Investing in marijuana

TGOD will show a profit this Q. Check out the 2-minute mark.

At this point, I'm trying to figure out what I'm missing. Why am I so convinced on this play? ...

I got interested in pot stocks around the time of legalization, so along with all the other dumb money, and just in time for the crash. Posted a nice 68% loss last year ... TGOD was one of the names that caught my attention, and I got in around $5.xx and then sold much lower. ... When it seemed like things had bottomed, TGOD didn't bounce with the rest of the market and I started accumulating.

There could be a disaster, a fire, act of god. ... It could turn out that TGOD doesn't know how to grow weed. Or cannabis doesn't get popular acceptance. A siting decision appeal expected this week could go bad.

I'm obviously bullish on cannabis, but have no idea what the long-term market will look like. Is it like wine or like vodka? Differentiated or a commodity? That seems like a mid-term, 3-5 years question ... TGOD is focused on the medical market, has international expansion plans and will could be a top-5 Canadian producer by the end of next year.

And then there's the whole "organic" thing ...

I'm down to holding three or four stocks: TGOD, Aphria, Organigram and CannTrust. But 75% of that is TGOD. They're well-funded and overlooked. I think this stock is significantly undervalued.

All that said, I'm trying to figure out where I'm wrong.

I haven't looked at TGOD, do they have many licenses to sell?

Re: Wanna get high? ... Investing in marijuana

Provincial licenses?

They have an interesting business model that seems more focused on medical patients and online sales. They aren't the only grower to say that, of course. But they are using an online sales model initially as they scale up. This should launch soon, but it is a small trial.

TGOD received a medical sales license from Health Canada in October, and more recently finalized a supply agreement with Ontario.

Compared with other companies, however, I don't think their provincial supply agreements are all that substantial yet. But I'm not sure how much that means, right now.

They have operations/entry into Mexico, Jamaica, Europe via HemPoland, and the Canadian market.

Management seems heavily experienced with consumer packaged goods.

Potential negative catalyst: If a settlement to move this growing facility were to fall through. City Council comes back at the end of March to vote.

Production will not begin to hit scale until Q4 at least, when Valleyfield 1A comes online--so there's another potential issue. The company, though it is clearly making progress, has been known to throw out a delay or three (though the last one also came with a significant increase in capacity).

Re: Wanna get high? ... Investing in marijuana

There's so much production coming online I think the ability to sell will start to become the most important thing. Strong branding, licenses/supply agreements , selling a broad spectrum of products, etc.

Just guessing on what might be the reason for the depressed price. You've got me thinking about adding some..

Health Canada is also ridiculously slow to approve new facilities.

Hexo acquiring Newstrike Brands is a pretty big deal in the space.

They have a warrant stock... What's that mean? I can buy the right to buy the stock for 1.80 at a future point?

Warrants are like call options except I think you have to exercise on a specific date usually years in the future. Also, warrants I believe are fulfilled by issuing new shares.

You can trade them like you can options as well.

Re: Wanna get high? ... Investing in marijuana

Okay, they are exerciseable at 5.60 per share until 1/31/2020, assuming I'm reading the filing correct.

I got out of CGC yesterday for a decent gain. I'd really hoped to wait until the low 50s, but I felt like I needed to put the $ somewhere more aggressive. I think CGC has a solid foundation, but the stock is already priced ahead of growth and now it's just kind of waiting for things to happen.

Yea I don't think CGC has a lot of upside from here. I've sold 90% of my shares. Would add below 37 again.

Re: Wanna get high? ... Investing in marijuana

TGOD earnings next week (after hours on the 19th), and an anticipated siting decision by Hamilton City Council on/by the 27th.

On the one hand, if I'm watching these events then the smart money says this **** is already priced in. And yet I still think this company is overlooked.

The general trend that I see, seems to be towards the legitimization of investment in the cannabis space. From Martha Stewart to Whole Foods to new banks showing interest. .... Maybe CBD is the public face of the product ...

Re: Wanna get high? ... Investing in marijuana

I got an email this morning advertising how CBD was added to this carriers approved medications so I think you could be right there. CBD is advertised liberally here and OKC is close to as conservative as it gets.

I get the feeling tgod is overlooked as well. I don't think the sector is necessarily efficient. It took 2 and a half days to consolidate the Hexo news. I've seen the market take 6+ months to catch up on other low visibility stocks that probably should be making a killing.
