Aphria is killing me. When are they going to get their facilities approved?

TGOD posted a construction update. Depending on how you feel about the company, it's either terrible or OK. They're expanding pretty significantly, but also spending $30M in the next three months.

Looks like some revenues are starting to trickle in.

I'm pretty heavily into this stock. They are well-behind the curve but also attractively valued imo for the capacity they are building towards.

Does anyone have strong opinions on this company?

Also, saw this:

@CitronResearch

Taking profits on $APHA. Stock up 60% since call a month ago. Canadian Weed has run too far moving into in US names. $CRON short with stock trading 70% above analyst tgt. As CIBC noted "sophisticated investors are beginning to shift capital to U.S operators."

Expansion could be really good for them if they have the ability to ell it all... The expansion could easily provide 400-500mm in extra revenues perr year

Is there any way that aurora deserves its market cap? Seems ridiculous, it’s the most popular stock on robin hood so who is left to buy?

I think Aurora's been overvalued for a while. But relative to CGC it doesn't seem overvalued. It's around half of CGC's market cap but their production capacities aren't all that different. CGC of course has some other stuff going for it...

Looks like Wyden introduced S.420

https://www.congress.gov/bill/116th-...bill/420/text?

"A bill to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to provide for the taxation and regulation of marijuana products, and for other purposes."

I ditched NWKRF for a loss (small position, but sold it down 10%). Moved into OGRMF @ $5.78

Should be a good day for cannabis stocks. Canopy posted strong revenues, Aphria released their short-seller response.

I don't think the market knows what to do with these earnings, since this is all pretty new territory ... the focus, I think rightfully, appears to be on rapidly growing sales/revenues.

Bunch of recent volume on TGOD.

I was hoping for a bigger pop. I think I'm done buying Canadian companies. Looking to sell out of them and move into U.S.

I think the U.S. companies will end up dominating for a few reasons:
1) U.S. is legalizing faster than thought
2) U.S. obviously way bigger
3) Canada isn't getting as good of a first mover advantage as they should have because the government really slowed things down in multiple ways- for example multiple big companies like Aphria have been waiting for months and months and months for Health Canada to come in and approve their facilities to grow more.

I've seen this sentiment from others. ... I'm sticking with Canadian growers right now. They will have larger markets than many realize, because they can export to any place legal. And from what I've seen, the oversupply problems will likely not be as bad.

That said, what companies are you looking at in the US? Is it more distribution/retail?

Ultimately though, US markets are going to be huge. Alcohol, tobacco, supplements, vitamins, pet rocks ....

Are you trading this for anything other than the pure hype, hoping it will continue? Do you actually believe Canadian pot stocks are long term investments?

To be honest, I don't know much yet on U.S. side. I own MPX/Ianthus for reasons I mentioned earlier in this thread. Also in trulieve and 1933.

I really need to get into one of the bigger players but they are already in the multi billion market caps, so I'm waiting on a pullback.

I do. Whether it continues to be growers or not, I don't know. But I believe the long-term future of cannabis is strong and right now the way I see to invest in that is in cannabis companies.

I'm certainly not denying there's a lot of hype. But cannabis demand will be strong because cannabis is awesome.

Way better than my own stock picks:

There's a ton of pent up demand. Remember prohibition? How would you have invested in alcohol, when it ended?

I don't claim any answers. Good lord no. None. But I think the situation is analogous, AND THEN SOME because as much money as tobacco and alcohol made that **** will kill you.

I really do not care about the specific names. But cannabis....

it ought to make no one rich because it should be available to everyone for nothing

Out of the small basket of marijuana stocks and ETFs I have CGC, Aphria, MJ, IIPR. IIPR the REIT has been my best performer over 60% with CGC a close second 54%. Anybody else been in IIPR? Thoughts on any other mariuana REITs out there or have any outside the box angles to play the industry? It seems the periphery of the industry might offer some of the best opportunities.
