Hmmmm I'd consider researching Valens (VGW.CN/VGWCF). Tiny market cap extraction company with promising Canadian partnerships to provide oils/concentrates. Vapes and oils have all of the coolness factor and I predict the category of products is going to dominate the recreational market eventually. Extracts are cheap to produce and can use discount weed.

Didn't they sign an extraction agreement with TGOD this month?

Canaccord Genuity lowered its price target on TGOD (basically to where it is now), and apparently now lists it as a "speculative buy."

I'm not sure this means much. The earnings had little new, the strategy hasn't changed, I don't see the risks changing ... I'm still looking towards Q3-4 for revenues, but as we've mentioned in this thread, the company is a step behind and seems deliberate (read:measured; read:slow) .... I don't think they're going to have a problem growing and selling organic weed, but we will see ....

TGOD announced this morning they've launched online sales. That's good news, but it's also a tiny pilot--200 patients. I doubt the market will care much.

I'm not an expert on Canadian city council meetings (or any city council meetings, for that matter), but this will probably be a bigger deal this week.

My hunch is that an approval is baked into the stock price but that a rejection wouldn't be good.

My premise has always been that TGOD was overlooked because it was so far behind. The buzz around earnings drove a lot of interest, but that interest seems to have dropped off and the stock price has dipped back. I don't think either the sales news or an approval this week will change that.

Just my thoughts; I have no intention of selling my position any time soon.

Their earnings we're terrible. I got out of the call first thing this morning and bought another put. Gonna ride it out now. Have until Friday for a bloodbath. They have a lot of sentiment to burn through, but "experts" are already turning on them.

I want to start looking at shorting more of these stocks but have chickened out on ACB and CRON both within the past 3 weeks.

I put some gambling funds on Robin Hood and am just going for it. It's been a fun learning experience so far.

I haven't touched this sector since the fall, but I don't get the case for trying to short CRON based off the most recent results. If I had to make a bet on which of these companies might still be around ten years from now, I would bet on them. The backing of the largest tobacco company in the world makes them a clear favorite to win this race IMO.

I was just sorting the earnings call based on the fundamentals in the face of a 15% pump. A 15% pump that was anticipating a really good earnings call.

For example, tgod pumps in anticipation of good earnings, actually had those good earnings, and still Drew back almost 10% the next day.

Still a lot of time until Friday, but it's certainly not looking good for me this moment

They are just overvalued. I think Canadiann MJ stocks in particular are overvalued. They've not spent their first mover advantage well and now the U.S. companies are coming online and will dominate the market.

TGOD CEO Brian Athaide did a 90-minute interview at McGill U last night (believe he did undergrad there). It was imo very good: an excellent look at TGOD's plans as well as where the company's management sees the cannabis market going, and how they view Canada's first-mover advantage globally.



Athaide seems sharp, not overly polished or blustery (perhaps I'm just used to watching energy CEOs).

There's an exchange where the interviewer wants to discuss the potential risks of cannabis and its widespread use, and Athaide presses back. I wan't a fan of this exchange for a few reasons. Mostly they seemed to talk past one another.

Got out of Cronos. Had no real price plan and hard to imagine it tanking significantly more than 18.

An analyst I follow attributes it to three downgrades of Cronos + repricing after a runup the last couple of months. It seems to be a very broad sell-off.

Would not be surprised to see TGOD get some back at the end of the day, heading into the council vote. Or not.

Absent changes in the market or company, I've kind of resigned myself to a bumpy-but-likely-upwards trajectory for the next six months or so. Could also b wrong and it's smooth-down, I guess.
