Hi, im a total beginner to virtual currency. Does anybody know if i can somewhat directly transfer stars money to bitcoins/ ethereum, because if i cash out and cash back in at coinbase it would take me 3 stages of transfers and this would cause multiple transaction/ currency-exchange fees.

@KuonidHirt, there are quite a few skypegroups where you can buy btc/eth for stars/neteller/skrill/etc (although there is a vig on it).

Waves is doing really well. It was my first ICO. The DEX is going to be so nice. I hope... Its not that great right now but the pictures of what "its going to be" are really nice. It has been more stable than any other coin I have. I bet it has something to do with it not being on polo.... Not so manipulated...

Looking into stratis and lisk. Anyone love or hate them?

I'm very new to the altcoins trading but during the correction it is worth nothing that ETH and Stratis were two of the main break outs. There could be several reasons why eth was trading with regard to chinese exchanges, ability to cash out more eth than btc in china etc that is basically making value adjustments tough to analyze.

I will say that when I traded the market years ago one of the things I Always looked for in bear markets were the leaders out into a bull run. In this most recent correction Stratis was one of the early leaders out and continues. I am not sure it is correlative but def worth a thought. Either way - to the moon! Anyone in here mining?

What happened in the last two months? Basically point at any decent coin and it's growing like crazy now, why?

Because bitcoin has risen in value, and basically the only way to buy alts is via bitcoin. It goes up they go up.

This was my first thought, but why does BTC goes up by XX.XX%, while some coins go up by XXX.XX% ?

When bitcoin goes up people have more money to invest and some groups use that to ship a ton of money into alts.

Bitcoins marketcap is like 40Bn if someone took 1% of that and put it in (insert alt coin here) that coin would go through the roof.

If we took 40MM and put it into Bitcoin the price of bitcoin wouldn't rise that much.

I like this idea.

We should start a culture of ignoring imbeciles.

If you do not post information about your random ****coin when you ask "is it going to go up" we should as a group ignore that post.

I've given enough free rides.

Since the topic of new(-ish) coins has been brought up what do you guys think of:

Coindash: https://www.coindash.io/ (pre ico)

SHIFT: https://www.shiftnrg.org/

Stratis (STRAT): http://stratisplatform.com/

What's the best way to purchase these coins?

I use COINBASE for bitcoin, ethereum, and litecoin.

But these other alternative cryptocurrencys, I have no idea how to get my hands on them.

And as far as ICO's go, I've only found Chinese websites for ICO's- so if someone can point me in the right direction for that as well.

Lastly,

Are my coins safe on COINBASE, or should I invest in a cold wallet for my harddrive? Also, suggestions on wallets please.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Does anyone understand Bancor? I have spent time reading through their site and only gotten a vague idea of what it does.

How to get coins:
1. Go to https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/views/all/
2. Select desired coin
3. On its page, below the graph, click on Markets tab and you'll see the exchanges where you can buy your coin.
4. Register on the exchange, buy the coin, send it to a safe wallet.

ICO's:
https://www.ico-list.com/
https://www.bitcoinsuisse.ch
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=159.0
Individual coin's homepage?

...that's what I learned so far.
