Don't be fooled by Quark's apparent valuation. After taking into account a premium for liquidity, the fact that early adopters of Quark have huge holdings and that no one of any intelligence will ever accept this in exchange for anything of substantial value, the currency is garbage.

Who am I?
-Recent MBA grad (finance specialization) from a top tier Canadian school
- ~100K total in BTC and LTC holdings
-going to be selling 2 of my rental properties this spring and accepting BTC and maybe LTC
-done hundreds of hours of research on cryptocurrencies
-In the process of purchasing a $1M+ business and I will likely adopt BTC or LTC as a payment option

Talking about Quark's http://coinmarketcap.com/ rise to fame is also a joke. A market cap of a currency should not be valued based on only on the last trade. It should use some sort of a weighted average price approach that takes into account the entire # of coins outstanding. This way people will not fall victim to low volume and high price movements caused by shameless promoters like Bill Still. Valuing a cryptocurrency market cap based on the last trade (especially when there is market manipulation going on.. quarkcoin) only makes sense if there is a never ending supply of greater fools than the last.

Please do not fall victim a 98% pre-mined scam coin. There are not enough fools to bail you out. There is only enough to make Bill Still rich.

Put it this way... I'll NEVER accept quark and neither should you.
+1

Agree with everything here. When it comes out that it was a complete scam it's going to be bad for all alt-coins.

What are the best coins to mine atm? Don't know if there is just a clear/easy answer on that, but I have a nice mining setup for LTC, I know BTC is getting much harder in difficulty (and cost of entry) are there any other ones that are considered good for mining currently?

Regardless whether you are going to mine or buy some virtual currency, what would you purchase if you had to or would get them for free ( worth $1000 for example)

https://www.multipool.us/

you just configure the miner and it automatically
chooses the most profitable altcoin to mine

very easy to use and if you have a good setup
(AMD graphic card is essential, donīt bother with Nvidia)
you are good to go...

Do you just trade them for BTC then?

Such serious thoughts:

The guy who runs just-dice just set up doge-dice for Dogecoin. It looks like 1Billion Dogecoin (400BTC) might get wagered in the first 24hours of this site. This is about 10% of the volume just-dice has been doing lately. Based on this Id say dogecoin market cap should be 10% of BTC so about $800M. With current doge market cap at around $3M, Id say this is very much buy! So wow!

The amazing thing about dogecoin is that, people that were never into cryptocurrencies are now intrigued and participating in it.

Aaaahaha, I started mining some dogecoin today for fun as I've never mined before and wanted to see the coins roll in (only using a hd 6850, not expecting profits). Went to multipool and see they're mining doge

I think it'd be ****ing hilarious (and very conflicting) if something like doge actually got serious traction.
