Isn't the whole point in crypto that the aps and software should run fast, scalable and secure in a decentralized protocol, being that precisely the point that everybody is trying to sort out?
No, the point is to get rich

Yes.

I am, personally, more of a decentralization "purist," even as I acknowledge crypto is not nearly as decentralized as it could be. I do my part, however, by not using CEXes (centralized exchanges) and paying the gas to use DEXes.

Is this Litecoin run temporary or are we going to see an emergence of the king of ALTs?

100-300% is possible. Everything is pumping /will pump.

It’s one of the last legacy alts yet to reclaim previous ATH’s. If you believe past cycles rhyme then LTC will have its day soon. It does nothing for 3-4 years and then makes most of its gains in a very short window. I wrote some pages back on this and expect it’ll do the same this time around.

That's what polygon (MATIC) is. It will cannibalize bsc a bit, and xpollinate.io is the bridge between them. ETH mainnet bridge to polygon costs the ~$20-$80 gas fees, and going back to mainnet from polygon still takes hours but this is simply the way things work at the moment.

It looks like in the mid term we will just have these differing ecosystems (eth mainnet, bsc, polygon, tron, sol, terra, dot) with various use-cases, levels of security, and levels of decentralization. Who's to say where that leads. But for now, the volume and $ locked up is mainly on ETH, the most working projects are on bsc (with lower fees), and the lowest fees/fastest transactions (of a network with dozens to hundreds of working projects) is on polygon.

Dunno about this. "The most working projects"? What exactly does that mean?

And ETH has plenty of projects that are scalable without being MATIC. For example, I'm using DMEX right now. It's a leverage trading dapp built on xdai. https://xdai.dmex.app/f/eth/0xc6ebce...8f409836db7dff

My research revealed that the current use cases are margin trading and savings accounts heavily subsidized by token issuance. Am I missing anything?

forgive me if this has been discussed but can someone explain the risks associated with lending stable coins on platforms such as blockfi or crypto.com?

the returns are attractive clearly, but are there scenarios where my "stable" coin drops dramatically?

I think the risk lies, not with the coins themselves per se, but with the trustworthiness and security of the platform. BlockFi and Celsius seem strong in that regard, and for me I believe it's a worthwhile risk for some percentage of my portfolio.

Casinos and dapps that track traditional markets are two things that come to mind that benefit from no KYC as they’re both heavily geolocked

What's the deal with XRP? Going nuts lately. Is it suspicion that the SEC case against Ripple is weak? Or just wallstreetbets pump?

Asset backed tokens and loans against those ABTs.

I think the writing is on the wall... the SEC is going to loose this lawsuit.

the filling is certainly loosing steam and the court is denying the SEC's request for several documents from Ripple/XRP.

They are probably going to settle.

I used to own a BUNCH of XRP... sold it off a year ago and while it is doing well, I have no desire to get back into their protocol and centralized idea.

Ripple is incredibly overpriced but there is no telling how high the hype will push. It may help them maintain longevity in the coming 10 years.

This tweet is pretty old, so I'm guessing some or even most of you guys have already seen it. But I came across this on Reddit and it's just so ****ing brilliant.

Anyone else use the ability to moon farm reddit? Managed to scoop up a sizeable chunk for little to no effort of low quality gif posting.

90% of my posts added nothing and took less than 3 seconds to post. Some of these posts were earning $10-$20

Moon is a distributed coin from r/cryptocurrency of reddit.

They have a halving period and even a poll period. Where new ideas in ways the coins are distributed increases your earnings if you involved yourself in the polls.

Each month you get distributed coins depending upon your karma in that subreddit.

It's currently .8 or something per 1 karma in that sub. If you park your coins in your reddit vault and don't move them each distribution you also get a % bonus (maybe 20%). Karma is essentially likes of reddit. The more karma you get within r/cryptocurrency the more will be distributed to you. It doesn't take a big brain to realize gifs are the lowest of effort and the highest upvoted content.

They lower the amount of moons given per month and they distribute some % to the posters, mods, the sub, and other subs.
