Yes a coin that could be taken over by a botnet for a few hundred thousand dollars is vastly superior to one that requires multi-milliondollar investment.

Too bad it is impossible because no matter what algorithm you think of I can implement that faster in an ASICS than a PC CPU. How much faster depends on the algorithm but that just moves the price point where ASIC's become viable.

yeah, i know. but i think that a crypto that makes mining widely accessible has a huge advantage.

Can anyone help me sell my ripple for btc? Have read a bit more about them and want to dump them.

I got Bitstamp's address in my address book as rvYAfWj5gh67oV6fW32ZzP3Aw4Eubs59B

I click trade, and make an offer. But what I'm nervous/unclear about is where do my BTC appear once the order is accepted?

Also stupid noob question, am I listing "Price of Each" roughly around the bid or ask price? I keep overthinking this and end up getting confused lol!

The liquidity on the bitstampBTC exchange is pretty terrible last time I used it. Where you decide to place a limit ask is up to you. If your order is fulfilled, you get bitstampBTC on Ripple. You can deposit into Bitstamp with those through the ripple deposit option on Bitstamp, they'll give you a ripple address to send them to. Then you'll have BTC on Bitstamp which you can withdraw normally.

Alternatively, you can just sell the XRP to someone who you'd trust to send you the agreed amount of BTC in return. I bought ripples a few times through bitcointalk.

You do realize that there is an insignificant amount of work to go from BTC to LTC, and Gox and BTCChina accepting it would only be hype rather than anything else?

Is there anyone in the world who wants to buy LTC, can get money to Gox or btcchina, but isn't buying it right now?

I do realise that it's gonna rise only because of hype if it gets listed on gox and btcchina, yes.

do both of you guys even realize what else was built entirely on hype? the united states of america. in 1776 some british *******s were probably like "wtf? america? no, our piece of paper is the true piece of paper, their piece of paper isn't worth the piece of paper it literally exists as"

so am i wrong to think i'm buying bitcoin and litecoin and alt coins as if i'm buying property in startup nations on the new world? hoping to cash in on some kind of louisiana purchase one day to help fund my war to conquer europe?

No but it could. I imagine secret societies popping up. The Dutch East Company was basically the 1st stock and it had an army. The coin to watch is Nxt.

Color me skeptical. Libertarians are passionate, but rarely militaristic. And mercenaries are never the same.

The point is any bump from an exchange allowing you to buy LTC will be temporary and all psychological.

Could anyone in the know give me a brief explanation as to why owning namecoins is worth anything and whether or not the abandoned project likely has any future? Would appreciate, ty!

Get with the times. Buying guns is so 2013. 3D printing guns with no money involved is the new thing.
