so uh, if the litecoin founder dumps all his litecoins, why shouldn't I? Or everyone else for that matter?

that's correct, but i'd say it's slightly more than that. i'm starting an online church. the services will be live streamed on youtube and twitch, and the prayers for token purchasers will be part of the service. so it will be a form of participation with the live stream as well.

the way i look at the world is when you connect with someone, even indirectly, you become attached by an invisible string that never detaches. the connection can be strong or it can be imperceptible. anyone who purchases a token will be connected to me for life as i'll always be sending out prayers and good vibrations to all of my token holders.

What do they get for their token in the future? Like literally nothing? Or could you theoretically trade it for something else?
edit: sorry, misunderstood. i have some cloudy plans for a future use integrated with the church but nothing concrete.

After reading through the entire thread was curious why there was so little discussion over the history of the thread in terms of DASH in-comparison to other Top 10 alt coins like LTC, ETH/ETC, Monero, XRP, etc...especially as it ran up from the sub 100s to now being 1500+

Its not had the advantage of being on coinbase ala LTC/ETH, is there something inherently unique about its tech from a marketing or branding standpoint that has allowed it to rise and crack the 1K threshold?

It probably wasn't a well thought out announcement and his timing was unfortunate, but I believe him to be well intentioned if naive.
A few weeks ago I heard him say that he was uncomfortable marketing the coin, as that could be construed as an attempt to pump the price for selfish reasons.
I got the impression that he is frustrated by the slow pace of crypto's acceptance as a viable currency and that he wants to put more effort into its uptake. By selling his stake he thinks he can help move LTC forward without being accused of greed.
Unfortunately the crypto space is over represented by a capitalistic mentality and
it will be difficult if not impossible for these people to understand that his selling probably wasn't motivated by his concern for the future utility and/or value of LTC, but rather by his desire for it to become the global currency he envisions it as.

I don't understand the technology to know if it's possible for this coin to become the one that is used for everyday transactions at the shopping mall, but I guess that's the vision and I like that this guy seems committed to getting it there.

Or maybe I'm the naive one thinking that altruism could possibly be a thing in the current space of cryptocurrency.

I believe he donated the proceeds to the Litecoin Foundation and he still benefits by seeing LTC grow in popularity/price. I thought for a split second about selling today but nahhhhhhhhhhhhh

Any Binance users, can you check what your LTC withdrawal fee is?

I think they're trying to close my arbitrage spot.

Dash is looking like the clear 2017 winner amongst the bigger caps accounting for volatility vs anything reasonable. That said I still don't understand why its so special other than masternodes are sexy and the supply is very limited.

Any Dash gurus care to speculate how it will do next year? Is this whole thing about being the crypto paypal actually viable?

Charlie Lee exiting his LTC position as a conflict of interest in promoting it is BS. However, can't really blame a guy taking his likely substantial # of coins and cashing out after a 100x on the year, during a time he likely feels it's over valued. His children's children likely set for life and I'm sure he has substantial upside holding other coins if the market continues to increase.
