Why do we think it’s over priced after this initial run up? Bitcoin has gone through multiple jumps like that and getting in at any point would have been great.

Based on what I’ve looked at the project looks great moreso than most MF the other coins and if that’s the case why not keep buying it up? Unless the recent run was just a pump and dump play but it doesn’t look to be that way

luckily bought chunks of verge a few month ago at .0025c. One of the best investments ive made so far. Price will continue to rise and they're yet to implement wraith protocol. Once that's in place should see price rise further. Wraith is released Q4 2017.

I decided to cash out a significant amount of my crypto holdings today. Been reading up about tether and it makes me extremely uneasy. Especially since I had lot of holdings on Bittrex and Binance, both of which are tether based exchanges.
Bitfinex keeps printing tether out of thin air and I assume they just keep pumping it into the crypto markets. When a memecoin (dogecoin) is up on a crazy run along with every other alt coin, I think everything is overvalued and the market has lost its mind.

I'm looking forward to how the whole tether coin stuff might unravel and blow up in the crypto world.

Be aware these could quickly turn into nightmares. Will just be full of people chasing / whack-a-moling for the next big Chinese pump coin and you're left holding bags of ****coins at some point.
Do the research, find coins you believe in, and BUY Dips.

Idk why you’d come to the conclusion that they are printing tether out of thin air... that’s now how tether functions. How so many people reach this conclusion is the most baffling thing I’ve seen in crypto. This isn’t a statement on the legality or viability of tether, because it’s not even really a cryptocurrency to begin with.

Printing it out of thin air without it being backed by actual usd. They used to do monthly audits showing their reserve balances being around 40-50M usd and there were about as much usdt in circulation in march 2017. Then they stopped doing audits and today, the amount of tether in circulation is over 1.1B. Lots of people questioning if the new tethers in circulation is even backed by anything and they refuse to reveal any more audits of their reserves. Do you see how "printing it out of thin air" with nothing backing it anymore could possibly cause issue in the markets?

Tether and Bitfinix are strongly linked in ownership. Who's to say they dont just whip up millions in tether (they just did another 50 M print a week or so ago) and dump it into alt coins driving it all up and then selling for btc and cash it out for real USD. I mean, thats the most obvious thing to do if you decide to scam the markets and can print (not even through mining) your own currency within your own exchange.

Bitfinex is likely pulling in $1m a day in trading fees, don't see the need to pull some out in the open scam.

Likely explanation for the recent increased supply of Tether is demand from other exchanges that are seeing rapid user growth.

Most of my concerns are circumstantial and what you could be saying could be true as well. But we have seen exchange implosions (mtgox) and businesses that rake in lots of daily fees (Full tilt scandal is the most obvious) still get greedy and abuse their access to funds, especially in an unregulated market. We could also take your last statement and reverse the causation by saying we are seeing rapid user rowth because of tether injections into the market which in turn inreases price and enthusiasm for crypto speculation but whos to say what caused what. Its still suspicious as hell that literally the month after they stop tether audits, tether circulation increases at a ridiculous rate.

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/tether/

Just look at tether amount right after march.

I think most of the alt coins are greatly overvalued but the ones that succeed will do great and many have promising partnerships. Some will definitely collapse. I bought some GBYTE today and am holding but will sell if it does well short term. Tech is great and what they are trying to do is good but its not on the blockchain.

I think that a mass increase in tether printing is consistent with either massive increase in demand for crypto assets (or an artificial pump with fake money).

The shady part is the lack of transparency and Bitfinex's suspicious past. Hopefully, other regulated exchanges can pop up and replace the seedy ones.

Thinking of long term investment in Modum supply chain coin. The team is very impressive and transparent stacked with phd's and professors. Only worried about High mcap already (40mil) considering how new they are and potentially could take a while to get moving.

Im convinced, at this point, that all the major rois are going to come from picking the right alts. Like btc eth Ltc bcash ext are prolly still worth buying but the growth is prolly capped at like 5-10x market cap.

Something like ripple or factom or w/e can increase 20-100x. But obv have way higher risk of ruin.
