About the BCH fork: currently the price of ABC is very nearly equal to SV. I find this a) curious, and b) a huge profit opportunity if scenarios can be calculated properly.

Under what scenarios is ABC not the dominant fork tomorrow?

a) SV holds enough hashpower to spam the ABC network with empty blocks, and also decides to engage in such an attack.

b) I don't know any others??

Jihan Wu of Bitmain has asserted that he supports ABC and will fight the SV attack. Apparently 90,000 ASICs are en route to deepest China to provide hash power to ABC so as to not get 51% attacked.

So isn't that the end of the story? ABC will be the main chain, and will be worth close or equal to whatever BCH is worth tomorrow (at least one would think).

You can buy ABC alone on Bitmex or Poloniex for 0.042... let's try to figure out why this isn't the steal of the century.

Bitmain may just write off their BCH bag as they are going public and don't want it killing their balance sheet.

So faketoshi wins, but BCH dies as eventually they will run out of money mining a chain that is on a death-spiral to 0.

Thanks for the thoughtful response protonewb. My only disagreement is that Jihan hasn't lost executive power--he was removed from the board of directors, but he's still the CEO, and the CEO has much more executive power than a single director.

Coinbase is the alt coin dumping ground, everything they touch turns to ash for retail. BCH, ETC, now ZRX. Would stay away from anything they announce in the future until price action proves otherwise.

51% are fine if you are anonymous, not a great look for your own chain when you are easy to identify.
And we still have the bitmain crashing BCHSV option that is super real, If bitmain Dump 1 million coin to kill that stupid fork, gl mining a worthless chain and i doubt the PR would be a problem when you sell the asset unlinke a 51% attack.

Anyway i wouldnt hold any BCH less than 3 days before the fork, no matter what happend it s super ugly for BCH even if ABC survive.

Will leave my first post in this thread from early on this year, nothing has changed. Good luck gentleman, I'd be selling anything I have left into BTC/dollars on any sort of relief rally. It's game over for years ahead (parallel to dot com bubble is apt) these two are horrible ****coins and they are still somehow in top 10 valuations. Most of the rest are going to zero and it's not too late to save what you have left, some early adopters can still lock in some nice annualized gains but only when you convert into BTC/fiat.

I'm all for trashing alt coins, but this is just bull****. If you really thought you had an opportunity to make $ shorting, surely you could've spend a couple of hours figuring out how to do it.

No, you can't short every alt coin, but that doesn't really matter since they are all hugely correlated anyways. You could have still put your money where your mouth is.

Easiest way to 'short' is just sell all your crypto for tether, Dai, trueusd, or other stable coin and then buy back your crypto at your predetermined short price.
