Twitter Showing Cracks? Twitter Showing Cracks?

Not sure how this thread doesn't exist so f it I'm starting it. I don't even come on 2+2 hardly anymore. Lol...

Musk is running Twitter like Trump ran the White House

Only he actually has to pay the bills. WH unlimited funds...

How did the Saudis end up backing Musk in buying Twitter? That's...interesting, to say the least...

Final question how the f is Musk going to service the debt? This inquiring mind would like to know. I'm aware he saves money by whittling the company down to what I guess is tantamount to a skeleton crew in terms of coding, now how tf is he going to monetize TWTR, and w this workforce?

Discuss. Popcorn.gif

Even Trump is rejecting Twitter. There goes Elon's last ditch attempt at avoiding complete irrelevancy.

^^ just shows how desperate Musk's ideas are

Trump is not gonna return to a platform that kicked him out & owe Musk a favour.

Elon is playing 4D chess, creating drama to drive traffic to twitter.

Fellas Twitter isn't public anymore so my interest has gone down to zero. Twitter will survive.

Couple of questions...

1) Who owns Twitter? As in, how was the purchase funded?

2) Whatever became of the whole bot thing from when Musk tried to angleshoot out of the deal? What exactly is the reality regarding bots/users and the makeup of that whole base?

He sold like $40 billion of tesla stock in the past year. That can more than fund it going forward.

He over paid for it and then tried to get the price down by backing out/bots/etc.

I should clarify that I know he sold Tesla stock. I wanted to know who else is part of the investing group. Read today a Saudi Prince (I think) owns like 4% or something

Also for bots, I wanted to know if it ever became public how "flooded w bots" Twitter is. Musk was saying one thing, pre Musk owned Twitter was saying another

Quote:
Among those impacted is Esther Crawford, who enthusiastically embraced Twitter CEO Elon Musk's vision of Twitter 2.0 and proved to be so hardcore that she became the chief executive of Twitter Payments, Financial Times reported. In November, Musk told staff there were no plans for more layoffs and pointed to Twitter Payments—a product that would support peer-to-peer payments and e-commerce on the platform—as the product that would save Twitter from going broke. Now, the Twitter Payments team has dropped from a staff of 30 to fewer than eight, the Times reported, making it unclear if the product is still a top priority as Twitter's money struggles drag on.
Quote:
Several lawsuits have been filed by staff affected by Twitter's mass layoffs. Those former staffers allege that they’ve been offered severance packages that are less than what they are owed. For executives hit by the latest round of layoffs, including Crawford and Haraldur Thorleifsson, their promised severance packages are even higher. The Times reported that they're so pricey, sources familiar with what's included in their severance packages expect it could cost Twitter more to lay them off than keep them on staff.
Under 2k employees now...

If it's true, that would be extremely stupid to admit publicly. Not just because now they're likely to look for you, and to sue you, but that that admission would doom you in the lawsuit.

really dishonest to compare Sept-Oct with holiday shopping spending beginning to ramp up vs what are generally the lowest ad spend period of the year

i'm sure spending is way down, but there's a reason why you don't compare to x months ago but rather the same exact time periods

also feels super dishonest to just cherry pick "the top 10 advertisers"

however, i still stand by in agreement that yes, he probably is letting his ego gut their earnings
