Look, if Elon says it then I believe him. I'm also in the process of freeing a Nigerian prince from a Spanish prison

Can we add this to the over/under on the prior bet I offered below?

Any Elon fan takers who are betting on these two in the mix of all the Grand Slams?

I'll offer some good odds to parlay these two??

Elon Musk's Neuralink to begin implanting microchips in human brains in 2022
‘It’s like a Fitbit for your skull with wires,’ he said in a 2020 demonstration of the prototype

In a Wall Street Journal interview, controversial billionaire engineer Elon Musk announced that Neuralink, his brain-interface technology company founded in 2016, hopes to start implanting microchips in human beings as early as next year...

Hopefully "person of the year" isn't chosen as necessarily a positive thing...

I can't imagine anyone causing more unnecessary drama while doing nothing positive. He did make a lot of headlines for being a borderline shitty person....

I think the biggest criteria is simply being a News Maker with no qualification if it is good or bad news.

I think one year the person of the year was a "middle east terrorist" or something like that. Not even a real person.

Just like the "news" about gaming while driving. They are just getting TSLA to show up on your local TV news. And it works.

Tesla delivered 308,600 electric vehicles in the fourth quarter of 2021. For the full year, Wall Street analysts had expected Tesla deliveries of 267,000 in the fourth quarter and 897,000 for all of 2021, according to a consensus compiled by FactSet.

729 - 1200 stock price off a 5% annual beat

If you are like me and feel like Tsla is way overvalued, but tired of fighting the irrational price action, you might want to consider sark, which basically sells all of the funds in the ARKK fund short. Of which number one holding is telsa (10%).

Even with tsla up last year, this fund still managed to gain about 40% since it's intro in November.

I have read some of the statements and seen some of the actions by the lady who runs this fund, and was not impressed.

so i too think tsla is absurdly valued

but now that i'm in the market for a car my mind keeps wandering to browse the options on their website - handful of times i almost clicked the buy button

i get that these two feelings don't necessarily have to be at odds with each other, but the realization when it comes to buying a new car that i'm leaning to a tesla definitely makes me soften my stance

If by lady you mean Cathie Wood you're talking about another individual who is pretty polarizing and everyone was singing her praises at the end of 2020 when ARKK had absolutely crushed for a few years. Fast forward a year later and everyone is jumping on the hatred bandwagon when she got crushed in 2021. I don't have a take one way or the other but she's a strong believer in the growth sector which many stock are already down 50%+ from all time highs. I don't particulars love that sector right now but there is a bull thesis it's over sold. So if you're DD is reading some statement by "the lady" and this is your reason for shorting ARKK you might want to do a little more DD and look at longer track record.

Lost 25% of its value in 3 months, better hope FED doesn't go through with its promises (probably won't)

Stock is actually up $50 over the last 3 months(22oct-22jan), but good try!

Any guesses for their earnings next week? My guess GAAP $2.5B, nonGAAP $3B (positive).

Sorry didn't get the exact timeline correct, lately it is around 30-33% off highs depending on what day it is.

I don't agree with the valuation but I'm more bullish on Tesla as a company than I was 2-3 years ago. With the amount of paper wealth created, everyone and their mother with a couple dollars wants to get 1 of these things now. Luxury cars a good business to be in these days thanks to the massive wealth gains at the top.

By the time the other automakers catchup, TSLA will likely be too entrenched.

CEO stock award was a bit more than I expected, but numbers looked fine. The call was a bit lol, Elon being Elon not answering the questions and spooking wallstreet. With current stock price 2022Q1EPS * 4 * P/E = Stockprice should give a PE a lot lower than yearly revenue growth rate%. Have we ever seen that before in any company?

That call was a serious red flag for any investor....even the fan bois were saying that Elon should not have been on the call as the expectation was that there would be a roadmap for CyberTruck, Semi and 25k car. Not only was there no roadmap when asked how they will ramp to 10mil cars he Elon said it doesn't matter what cars we sell, when FSD rolls out every Tesla will be worth 5X it's current value due to robotaxi. Needless to say this is a joke. Also indicated that the future is really TeslaBot (aka man in pajamas). To me it seems Elon is losing interst in the car side of the business. For the bulls, I ask the following

1)On the car side, the estimates of 20 mil cars sold eventually...that would be 1/3rd of all cars sold in any given year. Do you realize Apple has 17% share of cell phones. What makes you think Tesla will sell twice as many cars as Toyota, the leader at about 10Million per year?
2)On the robot side....what market is Tesla looking to capture exactly? Factory robots? That is already a commoditized business and they are starting from scratch. What exactly will these bots do? Dave Lee says they will save us from evil AI robots and therefore save humanity. I assume his account is parody?
3)Do you really think FSD will be solved "by end of this year"....or quite frankly ever? If you have a full FSD it cannot be 99.9999% accurate. It must be 100% accurate 100% of the time otherwise you will physically need someone there for those 0.00001% incidents otherwise noone would use a robotaxi.

TSLA is using their paying customers as lab rats.

Pretty solid use of "cognitive dissonance." You're way more likely to defend a garbage product if you pay $12k for it.
