Does anybody here know about what the earnings targets are for triggering the next tranches are for Elon? Curious about when selling bitcoin will trigger him getting another tranche.

This guy is sadly delusional about TSLA and how finance works.

Of course, he is the one who is currently rich, so he must be right.

TSLA goes up 10X every year!

Awaken with JP is a satire channel. He mocked spiritual gurus for like 5 years

There is something to say about satire being indistinguishable from reality though

whut? wait up!

I watched about 75% of that video before I had to do something else.

You are claiming that is a satirical poasting and not a real one?

I heard/seen some other channels that are almost the same as his. Some dudes are claiming that TSLA is going to be like $10,000 a share in 5-6-7 years, as nobody will have a vehicle EXCEPT for a TSLA. Also there will be fleets of roving, self driving taxis. Also that TSLA is going to take over large swaths of the defense sector, and MARS.

This is all so crazy, I simply can't fully "grok" the scale of it.

If that dude wants to do actual satire, he really needs to get crazy and not just parrot what every fan/bull of TSLA does already.

It was clearly satire.

Lol, I almost posted that video here, but decided not to. I love the part about JP being upset about Bill Gates probing us, but being happy about Neurolink. Some of his videos are hit or miss, but this one was pretty good.

And also about the non-sarcastic selling of magic pills to support making fun of a different fraud.

Are you still holding your July put? Doesn't seem like Tesla is coming all the way down without the whole market going with it.

Yeah, I’m really hoping when Q1 comes out around April 28 that it will cause a steep drop.

You are probably right that Tesla won’t go down unless the whole market goes down with it. In that case I could close out my puts and buy some VOO.

It is really weird how all these people on TV stations who appear to be knowledgeable and advocating for Tesla. They are either nefarious, naive, or have knowledge that I am not aware of and I’m the fool. I’m thinking it is the first one though.

Kevin OLeary who makes offers all the time on Shark tank is pro Tesla. It would seem that someone who does this would have the experience to sniff out an overpriced company. Although he is a TV personality and can’t be trusted. Kathie Woods seems knowledgeable in the way she speaks about finances, but the things she says about Tesla’s future price seem ridiculous to me. Maybe they are trying to build up so much hype that it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy.

If I bought a shed out in the middle of nowhere and told everyone I was going to cure cancer and had no infrastructure, but somehow convinced everyone that I was working on “groundbreaking technology” of the “future”. It would be ridiculous, but at the same time if I received billions of dollars I might actually be able to do it in the end. Then all the people who invested in me could be like “ha, we were smart to invest all along”. Maybe this will be the fate of Tesla. So much dumb money pours in that it actually becomes smart.

If Tesla raises enough money maybe it could buy out all the other competitors and have a monopoly. Every morning I think of Chamath Palihapitiya’s smug face dumping a **** ton of money into Tesla at 9:46 every morning when it uncontrollably spikes for no reason. Ugh, Tesla just collapse already damn it.

godson, regarding shark tank - it's not what you think it is

1. all those companies paid about 5% equity and 2% in royalties to the show itself just for an appearance - they do so because they view it as an ad spend for their product - this is independent of any investment they may receive

2. often times they don't even want the investment because they are being given absurdly bad offers, main reason for taking those offers is to ensure they are aired (a lot of the segments never got broadcast), hope for a repeat airing or update b-roll in the future, just have negotiation fatigue as they've put in all this time trying to get on the show and now finally here and just want it to have a "happy ending" after all that time committed to it, or because they aren't sophisticated and don't understand how bad the deal they are offered is

3. none of those deals are binding, only afterwards will they have their due diligence and a lot of them are offered completely new terms or have the offers withdrawn completely - it's essentially a freeroll for the sharks this way, this is why they'll gladly spit out a bid after a 5 minute introduction to the company - they also know the company will get a big boost immediately based off the show appearance and this dramatically increases the value

4. there are major class lines in this show, it entirely compromises lower class individuals and is marketed towards them, there's a good reason why every single shark you see on that show is self made from a lower or middle class background because no old money (ie majority of investors) would whore themselves out like that on tv discussing deals - i'm not making a judgement call on that, just pointing out this show is a fantasy land of survivor biased outliers creating a fantasy land that any working class family can strike it rich inventing a new selfie stick from their garage - it's not at all representative of reality

i have no judgement on what kevin o'leary did previously, but at this point in his career he's nothing more than an "investment celebrity" so I wouldn't ever base a single thing on what him or any other shark advises - they are choosing their talking points based on what's trending that will generate views and little else, so obviously he's going to talk about something like tesla and it's far easier to part of the much bigger crowd riding massive success than a minority bear who lost everything - it'd be suicidal for his social media career to actively disagree with the masses over something that's been so incredibly successful and made a lot of his audience quite rich

having said all of this, the show is a guilty pleasure of mine

Wouldn't surprise me if China did this because they're using Teslas to spy on the US.

Kevin OLeary, Katie Wood, and Chamath are all well known hucksters. You can't really trust anything they say.

I like your shed in the woods example. Being skilled at snake oil sales is crucial for the pump and dumpers.

this was literally the strategy of theranos, fake it to get the money to develop it for real - had it panned out they'd have written books praising her brilliance

Rick- This no longer seems to be the case:

Entrepreneurs previously gave 5% of their company or 2% in royalties to be on Shark Tank
New York Times reported in June 2013 that ABC had contestants give 5% of their company or 2% in royalties just to be on Shark Tank. Whether they actually sealed a deal with a shark didn’t matter.

However, this clause is a big risk and was reportedly affecting the casting of the show.

Mark Cuban reportedly said this clause ended after he threatened to not return to Shark Tank

oh wow, didn't know that, thanks for mentioning it, agreed that was a messed up structure that made show more informercial than anything else

still though there's a ton of equity in taking a bad deal to guarantee air time because air time on that show can 100x your monthly sales for next 2-3 months

I'm surprised it is even halfway to their last $7000 price target. I think it went up like 3.5x since then. Now they need another 4x.

Oh ok. If TSLA quadruples in price, it will have about a $3TT market cap. At that market cap, they are now the most valuable company on PLANET EARTH, and it is not even close!

AAPL is about a 2 trillion company. They make money, tons of it. They pay dividends. They are GOING to make money this year, they are going to make money next year. There is no doubt/debate to this. AAPL has been making solid money for 15+ years.

How much money will TSLA be making at a $3TT market cap? What will the P/E be? 3,000? higher? What will the P/B be? 300? Price to sales ratio?

OK, valuation metrics are for the developmentally disabled...who is going to be buying TSLA at $3k per share? Presumably, that NEW investor is going to hope that TSLA goes from $3k a share to $6k a share in 5 years? What?

Pure silliness and this is not going to end well.

You should copy and paste this post so you can eat your words when it hits. Unless America collapses - which could be possible, I see Tesla going to 3k. Although that number is 10 million cars which seems high. But I could easily see it- the tech they have is insane.
