They don't rly shut down lines for no reason (especially if they're supply constrained like elon says?) and certainly not just to give ppl time off. Btw workers get a week off and then are encouraged to "volunteer" in other areas
Could be a) refreshing s/x ahead of 2021 (bullish) or b) reworking lines wrt the suspension issue nhtsa is supposedly looking into and what led to recall in China (bearish)
Heltok for ur toyota post do you see how you can do the same thing with tesla and FSD over the last several years? If your answer is "they did FSD and it's done" then idk what to say
Solid State has been a few years away so many times. Maybe 2021 will be the year the prototype is finally revealed, but I would be very surprised if we see solid state batteries in 100k+ vehicles before 2023. It’s like the Tesla killers that were gonna come out next year for the last 5 years. It’s talk, not action.
FSD sure it has been vaporwary. But we have seen increasing progress towards it meanwhile with NOA etc and now we finally have a release to customers and email indicates that the holiday software release will include FSD for all US customers. So even though FSD had vaporware potential it finally seems that there was something real behind it. Bears can still argue that Tesla is drawing dead, Waymo and Cruise is so far ahead etc. But at least it’s not vaporware and it’s actually in production to real customers today.

Maybe. Maybe not. And even if they do, will the battery actually be better(longer range, more cycles, cheaper, meaningfully faster charge rate in real life) than competition? I am not certain. And when will it be out in high volume? Until then it is just talk that we have heard so many times before...
