We also learned that SpaceX purchased 700k worth of TSLA parts. Exactly how many cars did SpaceX buy from TSLA?
How many employees/total family members of those employees does Spacex have? Take that number and multiply by 1.

How screwed up does your company have to be that you can't even obtain D&O insurance?

On top of which, they apparently pay $13.5m annually to PwC for the audit....
Where are you getting this information?

The 10-K filed earlier today. Probably he filed it now so that people forget about it and focus on earnings while fulfilling all disclosures necessary to initiate another cap raise shortly after earnings.

Amended 10-K

Also, and I don't mean to come off as attacking, but $13.5m for an audit of Tesla's size is by no means out of the ordinary.

My TSLA strangle was up 30% in 2 days and the vix is cheap so I just closed it. Figured i'd take the $300 instead of sweating it out til may 15 and possibly open up another strangle when the vix is higher.

Sounds like you're only interested in buying at $400. If so, why not just sell that put? I'd either sell after a couple of down days to get more premium (if there are no down days, then you weren't getting much premium anyway), or step up to $500, or sell June's $400, or sell a higher May strike and roll into $400 June for a credit if there's a selloff.
This is the great thing about selling options. You can close them early - especially a 30% gain in 2 days - selling premium is great in these kinds of markets. No reason to get greedy - even if you think the stock isn't going to hit the target - plus I can free up some margin so I can make other trades since this strangle uses up a lot of margin.

I like your play from start to finish as long as it isn't too big of a trade for your account size and you're able to withstand some heat. Getting out with a nice profit and not sweating earnings is the way to go IMO

Also TSLA is it's own animal. Pay attention to it's IV relative to itself. With any underlying really. You should be on a platform that provides that for you. IV in TSLA is always going to be high. IVR (rank) looks at how the IV compares over the previous year. Selling high allows you to go wider with your strikes and also provides room for a nice contraction like you experienced. Nicely done

I use ThinkorSwim - it provides all that - even though I don't trade much on the platform - I still use it for charting and analysis.

These numbers are outright fraud.

12.5% decrease in OpEx despite opening up Shanghai and spending on Berlin. How is that even physically possible?

Cash jumps from 6b to 8b but interest income is flat QoQ?!!! Why have 4b in payables when you have 8b in cash? How the heck do they still have 1.28b in AR?

But for the 354m in regulatory credit sales, TSLA would show a quarterly loss of 340m.

It is precisely this nonsense why I short near term puts and buy LEAPS with the proceeds.

On top of which, Tesla stopped paying rent for Fremont in April despite having 8b in cash.

This earnings report isn't even the haha creative accounting of past Qs or in which reasonable people can disagree with how things are accounted; it's just completely made up in your face blatant fraud. Incredibly brazen.

Musk's companies are separate entities for legal and accounting purposes, but in his mind and for practical purposes all of his companies** are part of one vertically integrated plan, so it really shouldn't come as a surprise when they deal with each other expediently. +EV for both Tesla and SpaceX too. ** including Tesla, SpaceX, Boring Co, Neuralink.

so elon said there's no robotaxi network this year but we could see it next year.

well, that's unexpected...

hope you're all fixing that in your dcf models.

There won't be any autonomous robotaxis in normal traffic in the next 5 years at least.

im sure there is some accounting rules that let you not have the China factory on the books for debt and PPE, but there is no way that operating expenses can be kept off, yet they declined QoQ
