Huh?
I'm curious why Adam Jones didn't try to follow up on that. Maybe he was just too baffled/confused by the moronic answer.

Did you see Elon's staredown following that answer? Daring Jonas to challenge him.

Jonas needs to think about it and follow up on Wednesday. These guys aren't exactly cross examination wizards.

Big news today in addition to the press conference, surprised this hasn't been posted yet:

https://www.theguardian.com/technolo...-car-elon-musk

Between this and all the bad stuff that happened this weekend I'm not sure how Tesla can survive.

Thanks for posting...the good old days before Musk decapitated, pulverized and roasted alive multiple people by overhyping his clownishly incompetent beta software.

In fact I think it was the breakup from MobileEye around this time that catalyzed their autopilot becoming awful and never really getting safety back.

Keeeeeeeed,

When you are done trolling can you address the above take in light of most recent SpaceX fundraising attempt?

The most interesting part of the whole show was elon saying he's open to raising. If he can get $3-$5 billion that would end the short thesis for the year.

I still don't think he CAN raise that much, but in the past he has always said "no raise". I expect it will come up again on the earnings call.

None of that was new information though. The stock is down (surprisingly little) because they couldn't come up with anything exciting to present at this blatant hype event.

In my view there's a good probability that the Panasonic funding pull necessitated a rapid raise, hence the Autonomous Investors Day date set and earnings moved forward a week.

If demand is as dead as it seems the short thesis will still fly with good returns. But not impending bankruptcy.

Form D filed 4-17. They are trying to raise another $400 million but have only gotten $44 million.

The transition from Elon's recent "FSD isn't happening anytime soon for regulatory reasons" to "FSD is almost here" supports that thesis. The former was his position when there was still hope that Tesla could actually sell enough cars to profit. Now they have to sell a new dream (autonomous taxi income) to be able to raise and live to fight another day.

Why would that end the short thesis?

Tesla was inaccurate in comparing its Full Self Driving computer at 144 TOPS of processing with Nvidia Drive Xavier at 21 TOPS," a spokesman said in an email. "The correct comparison would have been against Nvidia's full self-driving computer, Nvidia Drive AGX Pegasus, which delivers 320 TOPS for AI perception, localization and path planning."

The published FSD demo video for today

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tlThdr3O5Qo

Unsurprisingly, it's sped up a ton and published at a low frame rate so it can't be slowed down with the built in youtube feature. The low frame rate does a good job of disguising any jerky movements, sudden turns of the wheel, potholes hit, etc.

There's nothing impressive here at all.
