This just gets better and better. After tripling down and calling Vern a "child rapist" with a 12 year old bride, Vern is going to sue in three countries, including the UK where libel is taken very seriously, and Thailand where libel comes with a jail term.

How do you think the Thais will view a creepy billionaire defaming their country and the guy who was instrumental in saving the boys?

Pumping pre-market $288 +2.6%. Hopefully fizzles out but 300 test looking odds on now sadly.

It's very sold down and tech is up this morning (also sold down). Musk spinning the (bad) sales numbers on Twitter will help pump it to his followers who need a little injection of hope with recent events.

I don't really have an opinion on the near term. The $313 ->$290ish by the end of this next (now this) week has played out yesterday so cover the near term if you want if anyone followed. If you're holding 2019 or 2020 puts I don't see much reason to cover, in the long run I think you're better off letting the thesis play out, especially with the incompetent ****show that is Tesla.

Did anyone see that the VW CFO went on record that they has no interest or ever engaged in discussions on buying tesla, after it was "leaked" they (and others) were going to put up 30b

15k shares in 100 sized lots

Is this pre market gaming to get a worse price at all standard anywhere else?

Tesla back to red until 10 minutes ago when a Fox Business journalist tweeted that a settlement between Musk and the SEC is "likely". Moving a little (0.7%) off lows on this. Good spot to cover if anyone followed me last week for a big profit, there's only a day left on the puts anyway.

Still hold the longer terms imo. SEC isn't really the thesis, although if a settlement means they can raise again then that prolongs the bankruptcy thesis into next year.

The new SEC head is basically a loser so I give the tweet a fair bit of credit.

I fully expect Musk to run wild on Rogans podcast. Joe isn't big on research or challenging guests. He will push back on subjects he is familiar with like fighting or politics but otherwise he just explores where the guest can take the conversation. I think Musk knows this and will just go wild with visions of space travel, rockets, the future, etc. Stoned Rogan will absolutely eat it up

There is a small chance Rogan challenges him on some news like the pedo stuff but other than that I expect Musk to pump the stock here. He seems to be one of those guys that everything that comes out of his mouth moves the stock up, its reality that brings it back down. I wouldn't like being short in the short term with this interview happening. You never know but history tells me the odds its negative are low. That said, Musk is fully capable of having a meltdown over a couple hour unscripted conversation.

Feel bad for anyone who panic covered above $290. The opening pump lasted less than 2 hours and now it's red. Joe Rogan isn't going to help the stock just lol. It'll be a slow death until the lipstick-on-the-pig earnings report which might get a $10-20 pump and another great short entry for the January trainwreck when they can't pay back the loans.

I don't understand the pedo claims. Is Musk under the impression that old foreigners are suspect in general? Does he think he has something on this guys specifically? I thought it was common knowledge and obvious to anyone that's been to Thailand that its a meat market of perfectly legal women. That's why people go there. Any pedo stuff would have to be way underground

I didnt do it, but buying puts expiring tomorrow knowing musk is going to talk for 2 hours live seems like a good play.

I mean they had to file an 8k after he accidentally admitted they couldnt hit 5k a week, and that was a 1 hour controlled EC

He must have someone who gave him info on the guy, since Musk seemed confident that he frequented Pattaya beach and that he was living in Chiang Rai. But I think Musk and maybe whoever gave him the info are under the severe misconception that those places are pedo hubs. In that email, he implies it was to be taken prima facie that an expat with connections to those places was a pedo. As you imply, the great majority of people going to Thailand—even those just looking for sex—are not looking for kids. It would be like calling someone going to Amsterdam a pedo. I worked with some old guy who never shut up about going to Pattaya, and never did he give me any cause to believe he might be interested in anyone underage. It's also just a very nice beach in an inexpensive part of the world. Now the info that the guy actually met his middle-aged, Thai wife in London, and then presumably traveled with her back to her homeland, has Musk looking like he grasped the wrong straw here and will get roasted in court.

Shows the character of the man to try and dig up dirt on a hero who just helped saved 13 kids from certain death! I think Musk has lost the plot speculating and doesn't have anything on Vern at all.

Nevermind, we are smoking joints now. Let's talk turkey.

Don't think a guy called Vern Unsworth would agree. Tesla share price looks ready to tank again at $277 pre market. Cant imagine institutional holders thought much of Musk smoking weed live on video in front of millions in light of recent antics.

I agree. I find myself drawn to him. He has an "aw shucks" picked on kid demeanor and an intellectual curiosity that's quite endearing. Add to that the fact that he's a billionaire/Tony Stark and he's a gigantic loser magnet/hero to a lot of worthless people.

Most frauds, narcissists and pathological liars rate extremely highly on likeability. The fact that he's a down-on-himself, self destructive loser/manchild (according to his father) adds an extra bit of likeability. It's a non-threatening psychology appealing to weak people.

Got to separate that from the investing thesis, however. Musk is a completely incompetent assclown incapable of running a car business. He lacks the intelligence, the planning ability, the delegation ability, the stability, the experience and the perspective. He can't even code properly - he's a hairball/spaghetti coder, which shows a lack of a large number of abilities including forward planning and organizational skills.

It absolutely does not matter what someone who claims himself to be a thought leader says about a successful public figure. People will always say something just to get attention.

Jobs was a prick but a highly competent person at the stuff he was paid to be competent at.

That's a joke bro. A few months ago people were saying how much they hate the term "thought leader", so I adopted it.

Except my psychoanalysis of this clown has been spot on. Everything you've seen in his behavior since his grandiose narcissist 2017 "machine that builds the machine" "air friction limited" "strobe lights to see the robots" Gigadelusion has been correct. Musk is a liar, a fraud, a grandiose narcissist with a hero complex, and hopelessly incompetent at the skills needed to be a car company CEO (and since the drugs - any CEO). He's a talented conman and beggar with a rich daddy.

At this point I'm just stating verifiable facts.

Madoff was a "successful public figure". Holmes, the Theranos CEO, was a "successful public figure". Trump is a highly "successful public figure", far more successful than Musk. I'm not sure why you think that has any bearing in the premises or insulates them from looking at their psychology when their broken psychology has tanked the stock 30% in a few weeks and destabilized the company?

You are not stating facts, you are stating questionable opinions that are far from proven. Madoff, Holmes and Trump were successful until they were proven otherwise.

You need to prove Musk's unsuccessfulness. So far, he is a very successful public figure that has founded four billion dollar companies. He will forever be someone who has founded two billion dollar companies. It won't ever go away. I can't even see the scenario in which Tesla will be recalled as a disaster or fraud. If they were to go bankrupt, the history books will write that they were too ambitious and didn't manage to execute on their grandesque plans. If you honestly think that Musk, Madoff and Holmes will be named in the same sentence then I can attest you with certainty that you are completely delusional.

I love how both sides view the other as delusional.

Tesla discussion seems to mirror politics, where for most people the process involves attempts to construct elaborate realities that hide unpleasant truths. This leads to the effect of people with opposing views being 'delusional'. I don't have the emotional need or belief system of Tesla bulls, so it is trivial to poke holes in their haphazardly built reality.

If this is flipped, what do the bulls see as the belief systems held by bears that they are trying to prop up by ignoring truth and creating their own world?
