Edit: obv there is capital available to private companies but not on the scale a company like tesla would need and also likely worse terms. It doesnt make sense, the idea is only being floated because elon wanted to hurt shorts and now the board has to pretend loke its a real option.

BK seems 90%+ now by end of q1 2019. Its the right move for them now, before they dont have a choice.

The claim of lost copper (unreported) seems credible enough. The simplest, least conspiratorial explanation seems like:

-Fully sloppy inventory, production, logistics, accounting, control, etc.

-Employee see an easy opening to steal

-The amounts become large and fencing them requires they deal with organized groups

Musk is playing much higher stakes, seems doubtful this operation went up to any important level of management.

I dont really buy the copper/drug stuff, just too many easy ways to steal from a company this size.

Also its a ****load of copper

It says copper and other raw materials. If they were getting dense copper, a cubic meter is ~20000 lbs and ~$50k. That's a hell of a lot of work to get tens of millions of dollars out the door. Even if they stole more valuable stuff, if the business model was trading material for drugs, then selling the drugs, they'd have to be selling drugs off elsewhere in epic amounts because gigafactory only has like 1000 employees. What the **** would they do with that amount of cash that the cartel wouldn't just kill them and take it (or drugs) back, or the same for whoever they dealt with locally? Maybe they stole a bunch of valuable ****, got paid like 5c on the dollar in drugs, sold the drugs to known locals, and got the hell out of town. I guess that's possible. But this going up to Musk (beyond something like Musk randomly buying personal use coke from an employee who happened to be doing this) seems super unlikely.

Elon Musk: Tesla could produce a $25,000 car in around 3 years

Even with recent events still cant help make ridiculous headline grabbing statements (lies?). Any news when the 35k is available?

$298 Pre-market -2.5% . Hope we don't get the standard bounce off $300 area. Will be fun to watch longs turn on Musk if this really tanks.

The (paid?) Tesla pumpers at JPMorgan have likely had the boss tell them to ass cover given the damage they've done to their investors. Talk about egg on your face.

We are still at a near 50b valuation for a company that will never make money

Thesis being if Tesla loses money in Q3 after harvesting the juiciest part if the M3 backlog, what is the bull thesis then?

Combined with suppliers likely going COD by then just seems like a decent gamble @ max 75:1 payout

Other chance is Elon is pushed out and they voluntarily go to BK

It doesn't matter. TSLA is an identity at this point.
