TSLA showing cracks? TSLA showing cracks?

This is a decent and balanced summary from the NYT claiming inside sources that his Tweet was impulsive and stretching the truth a little, and now he's in the doodoo.

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/08/13/b...di-arabia.html

Quote:
Two people familiar with the chain of events said that in a conversation with an informal adviser about the mess he had gotten himself into, Mr. Musk said he had taken to Twitter impulsively. He said he had done so because he was not the kind of person who could hold things in, and was angry at the company’s critics.

A person with direct knowledge of the Tesla board’s thinking said some members of the board had been totally blindsided by Mr. Musk’s decision to air his plan on Twitter.
Quote:
In the past few months, he has mocked industry analysts for asking “bonehead” questions, pursued online tirades against investors betting against the company’s stock, clashed with a government agency investigating a fatal Tesla crash, and accused a disgruntled employee of sabotage.

Then he suddenly announced the idea of taking the company private.
This is what end stage cocaine overuse + the pressure of impending bankruptcy looks like.

Never say never to big dumb money, but the $420 buyout looks like a pure fantasy that will never happen.

In fairness, he didn't say he was working with them. He said he's excited to work with them.

honestly, if just a fraction of that is true, someone (family, his brother, the board?) should really intervene at some point.
he's literally one of a few persons in the position to tweet himself into meaningful jail time (if he hasn't already).

I haven't really taken an interest in Musk as a person (he's a garden variety loser), but it's interesting to read that Musk's family is basically super rich off Zambian emerald mines.

A teenage Elon Musk once casually sold his father's emeralds to Tiffany & Co. while his dad was sleeping
Quote:
"We were very wealthy," says Errol. "We had so much money at times we couldn't even close our safe."
Vance's biography portraying him as self made struggling with a startup is probably more fiction than fact. I wouldn't be surprised if his father bought him startups like Zip2 and had him in charge while others did the real work...he then got lucky when that parlayed into a PayPal buyout and later PayPal sale.

Since then it's been attaching himself to the government teat and then investor money - he's burned about $5 billion of US taxpayer money and about $10 billion of diluted investor money, plus 10s of billions more in debt.

And it's painful to watch.

I think there are plenty of bureaucratic cucks, and that's all that's needed to run a car company competently. The mess at Tesla is definitely because his father didn't love him, it's driving an endless need for speed and shortcuts and "coolness" to get that love he so craves, when they're the opposite of what you need in a car company.

Well I explained above several times. Rocket science is a tiny fledgling pork-barreled industry with a handful of players, ripe for disruption by a crazy energy willing to give scientists jobs and money and free reign and take safety shortcuts and throw his crazy energy into problem solving.

The car industry and mass manufacturing is in many ways the opposite - all the processes have been optimized away, margins are razor thin, errors are incredibly costly, and process wins over genius. It requires large amounts of deployed capital for economies of scale and tight supply chains. It's not a thing amenable to genius. It's a bureaucratic exercise of bringing together vast numbers of suppliers and processes into something that works with the lowest failure rate possible and razor thin margins are scraped out by flawless execution. Car making is death by 1000 cuts if you don't do that properly. Musk is totally unsuited for that, he's incompetent at it. Musk is a damaged grand-narrative guy who can't reliably and consistently do details.
tooth sayer definitely seems like a guy who hasn't taken much of an interest in Musk as a person

Psychological explanations for why he's such an incompetent manager (and will continue to be and thus lead Tesla off a cliff/fail at the careful bureaucracy required for reliable profitable mass manufacturing) have nothing to do with interest in Musk as person.

So does you being a loser (using your own reasoning, involved enough to be an unpaid moderator of said message board) preclude you from implying I'm a loser? Cause that's where your logic is going...

Look if you're interested in Musk and swallowed Vance's fictional biography whole, good for you, but Musk just isn't an interesting character. He's a rather pathetic indvidual who started off very rich, hit some lucky patches and got bailed out (by taxpayers, by his daddy). Now he's far above his competence level running a car company and having a very public meltdown while burning tens of billions in taxpayer and investor capital for no end result.

Bezos, Gates, Buffett, most CEOs in fact are fascinating, successful people. Musk is the fish who won a few tournaments and is now getting killed at the big boy table, because the skill and intelligence was never there.

We really don't need to be focused on Musk personally, lets get back to the topic of the thread: Elon Musk is a huge cuck who is starved for attention from his father. Discuss.
TSLA showing cracks? Quote
08-14-2018 , 09:46 AM
That's well established and it's driving his public meltdown. People with stable backgrounds and deserved success don't go publicly denouncing strangers as pedophiles with no evidence. Or rage-tweeting lies about go-private financing because he's angry at people shorting his company, in a way that leaves both him and the company open to billions in liability claims and SEC sanctions.

I get that it's hard to see that your hero is flawed, but take a step back and look at this behavior. Something has to be pretty seriously wrong somewhere for this to be happening. Maybe he's a stable genius and just likes his cocaine. Who knows. Either way, it's not a good sign for Tesla.

Just gone short again at 355. Seems like no-brainer now. the buyout is not happening and CEO just committed massive securities fraud and seems to be on the verge of stress/drug induced mental breakdown.

They're trickling out news items every few hours related to the buyout in Tweets and PR and leaks to keep the millions of bulls happy and FOMO alive, but it's pretty clear at this stage that there's very little of substance here.

The early take is correct (Musk has vague expressions of interest but ultimately had smoke and was merely doing an angry Twitter attempt to hurt what his naricssistic coked up self sees as his oppressors - the shorts).

Even the bulls are pretty uncertain about thing from what I can gather and sense something is off. If there's bad news of some kind I think we get a sizable dump.

The fact you are a total jerk to people is what makes you a message board loser. Does it make you feel good about yourself? Are you capable of showing your intelligence without being a tool? Were you bullied in school and this is 'your turn'?

lol at your definition of 'getting killed'. You are completely delusional when it comes to Musk. Feel free to post some of your own accomplishments, since I'm sure they are unbelievable!

It's a neutral feeling. I mostly feel sad for others and the lack of reason.

Yeah that's easy. I would require an hourly rate to do that however.

And I was the bully in school, so no. An ethical bully though, never drew blood or flushed heads or picked on sensitive non-losers.

I think you're talking about the source of Musk's management style and treatment of his critics and staff, not me.

Madoff did great until he was exposed after decades. So did Theranos' CEO - the youngest self made female billionaire. I would have been ripped to shreds by the likes of you had I criticized her 3 years ago, called a misogynist, delusional.

Musk is doing great right now in paper wealth with his donkey carrot routine and cult PR figure he's created in an easy credit world from 2008 to now. If he's still a billionaire and not in prison in 5 years, if he ever has one company that turns a profit for a year without sucking off the public teat and taking money from poor people, I'll call him successful.

I'm $5 billion ahead of Musk at public money not flushed down the toilet. I've definitely done more for this world than Elon Musk. Street hobos have greater accomplishments than Musk because they're not massively negative for innovation and public funds. It's a low, low bar. In fact I can't think of a bigger wealth and innovation destroyer in recent history.

You have nothing to back this. This is absolute non-sense in the eyes of almost any independent person.

1) Just to take your delusion: you haven't done more than Elon Musk for this world, get your head out of your own ass.

2) Musk has a substantial track record. You cannot take away the fact that he build various multi-billion dollar companies. Two of them will forever be multi-billion dollar companies. The other two are still active.

3) The public money argument is a) disproven multiple times, b) probably very well spent as time will tell and c) is irrelevant, because a lot of billion dollar businesses in the size of Tesla and SpaceX have received that sort of money.

You are so bitter that you just cannot win against Musk. It's laughable that you are trying to personally discredit him based on your own assessment of what you think is the gold standard. You don't understand that it's your definition of great and you are often times alone with your assessment of reality.

Spurious, lol man. Your 3 a), b) and c) contradict each other.

Yeah Amber Heard is man-poison, especially for one of the biggest betas ever born, Elon Musk. She ruined Johnny Depp pretty successfully by privately filming him.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Atg8HQUkz08

CrazyDaysAndNights, which broke the story about Musk begging for investments around the world months ago (which I think we can call true now), claims this:

Quote:
What no one seems to have figured out is how our favorite misspelled flowering financial institution is going to do any work at her current location when that location is missing a recording studio. It all sounds like a way to make it seem as if the CEO and the one named foreign born singer are closer than they are. I mean he does still have phone sex with the A- list actress ex.
Amber Heard basically his broke his heart and he rebounded into a relationship with a weird druggie singer and he's now so drugged up he's calling strangers pedophiles to 22 million people and going into paranoia about shorts and saboteurs.

Meanwhile, back on topic...

Musk this morning:

Quote:
I’m excited to work with Silver Lake and Goldman Sachs as financial advisors, plus Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz and Munger, Tolles & Olson as legal advisors, on the proposal to take Tesla private
Silver Lake a bit later denies they're playing a compensated part in the process and say they have no official role.

Now, this just broke:

Quote:
Goldman Sachs denies they had a mandate as financial advisors when Musk tweeted
Is he losing his mind?
